“It’s not a threat, angel. It’s a promise.”

“Adam, I missed you. I want you…now.”

“And you’ll have me. Just as soon as I get you back home. But for now, I hate to tell you this but I only rented the restaurant for about an hour.” His mouth twists. “Just long enough to claim you as mine and hope to hell that you’ll claim me as well.”

“I will.” I giggle and reach up to tap his lean cheek. “So what does this mean?”

“This means that I’m gonna move in with you until we find a bigger place if we want it. Whatever you want, that’s what you’ll get. If you want to stay in your cabin, we will. But if we do, we’re gonna have to expand because I’m gonna make it my life’s work to get you pregnant with my baby as quickly as possible.”

He lifts me up on the counter, his lips finding mine, soft and sweet and so damn tempting and my head spins as he nips and sucks at my lips.

Until the jingle at the door warns me that we have company. My boss walks in the door and grins at us. “Well, I’m gonna guess that it worked, Adam.”

His dark eyes twinkle as he leans his forehead against mine, our breaths mingling, his hands holding me tight.

“Yeah. I got the best gift in the world today. A woman that I love more than life itself.”

“Right back atcha, Adam!” I giggle.

He rolls his eyes and I smile at my boss. He grins back at me and says, “Get out of here, you two.”

Adam picks me up and tosses me over his shoulder, patting my ass and chuckling.

“Don’t have to tell me twice. She’ll see you in two days. We’re gonna celebrate a new beginning together.”

My boss’s only reply is a groan and a chuckle. “Yeah. Please don’t tell me anything else. Just go.”

“Thanks, boss. See you soon.”

But not until I get to spend time with my best friend, the love of my life and my son.

I never thought I’d get this lucky. Life sure is good on the mountain. I’m glad I didn’t lose out on this man.

He’s everything I’ve ever wanted all rolled up in one gorgeous, sweet package.

My soulmate. My forever.

EPILOGUE: ADAM

“Are you sure about this, angel?”

She smiles happily. “I’m more sure than I’ve ever been in my life.”

“Thank god!” I say just as the organ starts up and we turn to each other and smile as Elvis stands over us on a platform, his low-cut jumpsuit barely covering his furry chest. His hips swivel and I growl under my breath when I see Livvy’s eyes widen and blink at him.

“Can we get on with this, buddy? I’ve got plans formyfuture wife.”

The younger man eyes me and he lowers his sunglasses, grinning sheepishly at me. “Sorry, man. The ladies like the act.”

Glaring at him, I wave him on. He clears his throat. “Uh-um. Dearly beloved, we are gathered here…”

The rest of the ceremony is a blur. Livvy’s hazel eyes sparkle with gold and green glints and I can’t wait to get her alone. Can’t wait until she’s officially mine forever.

“If anyone has any reason why these two can’t be united in wedlock please speak now or forever hold your peace.”

I glance around and then turn back to the idiot in front of me. “Dude, it’s just you and your receptionist. You’re our witnesses. Who the hell else is going to say anything? The ghost of Elvis?”

Livvy rolls her eyes. “He’s just doing the ceremony the traditional way. Stop messing with the man, grumpy.”
