This is what I’ve been missing for all these years. Not just a warm, willing woman. A woman that’s meant to be mine. A woman that stirs more than just my dick. A woman who owns my heart and soul and keeps it safe in her pretty little hands while I take care of her for all eternity. A woman to share a future with. A life with.

I sound like a crazy sap. But it’s true. Fuck, I’ve missed so much time with her and I want to tell her right now that she’s marrying me or I’m gonna run off to Vegas and marry her right this second with Elvis as my witness.

But it’s too soon. She’s just started to trust me and I can’t break that trust by pushing her too soon.

She sighs and I feel her warm breath wash over my skin. I close my eyes and grit my teeth. My dick is already getting hard. This woman annihilates all my defenses.

Her fingers dance on my chest, twirling in my chest hair and leaving a trail of fire with just those little touches.

“I really want to do this again,” she giggles.

“Me too. But I need a little time to recuperate, angel. Then I’ll claim you as many times as you like. As you can handle.”

Her hazel eyes shift up to me and she smiles slyly. “All the times. I want all the times, Adam.”

“Then that’s what you’ll get. But sleep now. You’re gonna need it.”

With a happy sigh, she cuddles into me and curls up, sleeping within seconds.

And it takes me mere seconds later to follow her into oblivion.

The phone dragsme up out of sleep and I hit speakerphone on the bedside table. “Hello,” I mutter.

“Have you done the paternity test on that child yet?”

Cursing under my breath, I try and grab the phone and turn off the speaker but it’s too late. Livvy’s golden-green eyes meet mine, shocked and betrayed. She takes the phone out of my hands and waits.

“I know it’s a long shot but if he is our grandchild we need to make sure he’s raised right and he can’t be with that girl. She must have seduced your poor brother to try and make some money off of this pregnancy so we’re damn sure not going to let her make a dime off of our backs.”

“I don’t want a fucking thing from you people. Go to hell and take both of your sons with you!”

Then she slams the phone down on the floor and rips the blanket off of the bed, her tiny body quivering with anger, wrapping it around herself, a floral, quilted shield.

“Now, angel… I don’t know what you’re thinking but I promise you…I wasn’t going to take Sam. I would never do that to you.”

“You’re damn sure not getting the chance. Get the hell out of here. If you try anything I’ll make sure that the paper knows about all of your misdeeds to try and steal my child. And I’ll find an attorney willing to sue you until you don’t have a dime left to your name. And then I’ll go after your parents until they learn to leave me alone too.”

“Baby,” I groan, holding out my hand, my eyes begging her to listen to me. I’m desperate. I can’t lose her.

“Get out!”

Tears are running down her face and I can’t stand it. Can’t bear the heartbroken look in her eyes. I did this. I hurt her. Or rather my parents did.

But I gather up the clothes off the floor and the shreds of my dignity and pride and haul my ass out of there.

As soon as I get in the SUV, I call my parents and growl, “You two are complete assholes and if you try and take that boy away from her, I’ll use every damn dime I’ve got to wipe you out and trash your reputation and Jesse’s until my dying day.”

Both of them hem and haw and my mother’s wailing almost destroys my eardrums. I’m sure it’s a noise that only dogs can hear.

And then I slam the phone down, growling and grinding my teeth.

I have to win Livvy back. Have to get her to listen to me. Because there’s no way she’s getting away from me. Even if I have to hogtie her and take her home with me until she gives in.

She’s mine. Forever. I can’t live without her.
