“I’m good with the status quo,” she said. “Hey, there’s something I want to tell you.”

“What’s that?”

“I lied before about it not mattering that you were my first penis in vagina experience. It did matter. I’m glad it was you, Lucas.”

He kissed her shoulder again. “Thank you for telling me. I’m glad it was me too, baby.”

They snuggled silently for nearly five minutes before she said, “What time are you and Connor going to Willington?”

“I’m picking him up at eleven.”

“It’s nice of you to spend your Sunday helping Connor’s dad replace their basement flooring.”

“Connor’s folks were my second parents growing up,” Lucas said. “They’re good people. When I moved to New Cassel, my mom and Connor’s mom used to team up and send me these elaborate care packages. They were worried the big bad city would eat me alive.”

She traced his forearm with her fingertips. “Did you like living in New Cassel?”

“I didn’t hate it. There are lots of perks to big city living. Stores being open past seven pm on a weeknight is a big one, but deep down, I’m just a small town boy.”

She smiled a little. “Nothing wrong with that.”

“Stark was sure I’d turn down the promotion. He assumed I wouldn’t want to return to a small town.”

“Do you know why he opened the office and moved to Harmony Falls?” Emma asked.

“Nah, he keeps his personal life locked down tight,” Lucas said. “He mentioned once that he spent a few summers in Harmony Falls with his grandparents as a kid. But not sure that would explain why he’d move here.”

His stomach already churning, he said, “Did you get Twisted Stitches assessed yet?”

“It’s in progress.” Emma glanced at her phone. “Are you a breakfast eater?”

“Not really,” Lucas said. “I usually do a smoothie.”

Emma gave him a delighted look. “Me too!”

“We’re smoothie buddies,” he said, making her laugh.

Emma moved to get out of bed, and Lucas pulled her tighter against him. “Where are you going?”

“To make you my favourite smoothie. It’ll change your life,” she said.

“I’m all about life-changing smoothies, but,” he plucked gently at her nipple and trailed soft, open-mouthed kisses down her throat, “do you know what would make that smoothie even better?”

“What’s that?” Her voice was breathless.

“If the woman making the life-changing smoothie had just been given a life-changing orgasm.”

She turned to face him, one soft hand smoothing down his chest and abdomen before lightly grasping his hardening cock. “Someone’s pretty cocky about their sexual abilities.”

He bent his head and sucked on her nipple until it was a stiff peak in his mouth. “I prefer the term confident.”

He rolled her onto her back and kissed between her magnificent breasts. “Besides, I think I’ve proved how good I am at making you come, Emma.”

“Maybe,” she gasped when he sucked hard at her nipple. “But you should probably remind me how good.”

“Whatever you want, Emma.”
