Her right cheek turned light pink and her birthmark darkened, and a weird look crossed her face before she cleared her throat. “Fine. You can have an hour in the chair.”

“Yes!” He fist pumped the air, and what was almost a grin crossed Emma’s face. “What time should I come over tonight.”

“I have plans tonight,” she said. “Bend your head.”

“Big date, huh? Who’s the guy?” He bent his head, keeping his gaze on her collarbone instead of her tits. “Is he a gamer? Are you going to let him sit in the chair? Because it won’t mean as much if some other guy sits in the chair before me, Emma.”

“It’s not a date.” She parted his hair before wiping at the scratch on his scalp.

It burned like fire, and he grunted in pain as she cleaned it again.

“Almost done,” she said.

Fuck it. He was only human. Staring at Emma’s tits would be a great distraction from the flames burning his scalp. He dropped his gaze to the opening in her shirt, staring at the curve of her tits, imagining how soft her skin would feel under his fingertips as he traced along the top of her tits before circling her nipple. Did she have sensitive nips? He hoped so.

He would be the first to admit to being a wee bit breast obsessed. There was nothing he loved more than teasing a woman with licks and bites and hard sucks that would turn Emma’s nipples swollen and tight and have her begging him for more in that sexy voice of hers before she spread her legs and let him -

“Lucas? Hello, Lucas?” Her finger tapped him on the side of the head.

“What?” He dragged his gaze from her tits, staring up at her.

“I said, I’m finished. You can… what’s going on with your face?” Emma said.

“What? Nothing,” he said.

“You look…”

“I look what?” Fuck, he needed to keep her gaze on his face and not on his crotch at his obvious erection.

“Sweaty,” she said.

He laughed. “You’re torturing me. Of course, I’m going to be sweaty.”

She made the cutest little puff of annoyance before stepping back and zipping up the first aid kit. She gathered up the used antiseptic pads and the wrappers. “Okay, you’re good. I need to get back to the shop. I have another interview this afternoon for a part-time employee.”

“Right.” He slid off her car. “Thanks, Emma. Sorry about lunch.”

She shrugged. “It wasn’t your fault.”

“So, what time should I be at your place tomorrow night?”

She laughed. “You’re obsessed. Come by around seven.”

“Perfect,” he said. “See you then, gorg - Emma.”

“Bye, Lucas.”

“No,I understand. I apologize for the scare you and Tiko had this afternoon. We’re very close to catching Lady Nakia, I promise.” Nathan rubbed his jaw, ignoring his temptation to place the phone back in its cradle and walk out of the clinic. “I know Mrs. Rathbone is upset, but I can assure you that I didn’t let go of Lady Nakia on purpose. Why don’t you bring Tiko in for a no-charge examination tomorrow morning? Yes, ten would work. All right. See you then.”

He ended the call and stared at the computer screen before typing in Tiko’s appointment. He hadn’t looked at the calendar before booking, but at this point, there was no real need to check his appointments first. Other than one surgery in the afternoon, his day was wide open. All of his days were wide open. All because of an on-death’s-door horse and a runaway cat.

“That damn cat,” he muttered before rubbing at his face again.

“Lady Nakia struck again, huh?”

Nathan looked up to see Hal leaning against the door frame of his office. “Yeah. Mrs. Lachan was walking her teacup Yorkie Tiko, and I guess Lady Nakia attacked him. Gave him a few good smacks to the head before Mrs. Lachan could chase her off.”
