Tears pricked at her eyes, and Harper leaned over and gently bonked her forehead against Addie’s. “Thanks, pinky-pie. I love you.”

“I love you too,” she said. “And you know I’ll support you in anything you decide to do, but are you sure, I mean, really sure, that having casual sex with Nathan is what you want? It’s a lot different having casual sex with someone in the Falls than it is in some anonymous big city.”

“I know,” Harper said. “I also know it’s a bad idea to be banging Nathan, but his dick, Addison. It’s so fucking pretty. And the man knows how to fuck. You know how rare that can be.”

Addie turned bright pink. While Harper was glad that Addison was more comfortable with sex in general since she’d started dating Preacher, she was also comforted by the predictability of Addison blushing during a sex talk.

“Okay, well, I’m very happy for you, but you’ve only had sex with him twice,” Addison said. “Is that enough time to know he’s really good at it?”

“You knew after banging Preacher only once,” Harper said.

“Sure, but I’d only had bad sex up to that point,” Addison said. “So, it was easy to tell what amazing sex was.”

“Actually, I’d argue that it’s easier for me to tell what’s good sex because I’ve had a lot more partners and therefore a higher potential for encountering bad sex,” Harper said.

Addie laughed. “I can’t see you putting up with bad sex in bed, Harper. That’s not your style.”

“There are varying levels of bad sex, and sometimes a girl just wants dick. Even if it’s bad dick,” Harper said. “All I’m saying is that even based on only two rounds of hide the salami with Nathan, he’s the best sex of my life. I’ve come harder with him than anyone before, and that includes Francisco, who, up until Nathan, was my top of the scale for fucking.”

“What happens if you develop feelings for him?” Addison said. “That’s going to be awkward as heck.”

“I won’t develop feelings for him,” Harper said.

“I think you already have,” Addie said as Harper’s phone chimed. She set her sketchpad on the couch again and dug her phone out of her pocket.

“I haven’t,” Harper denied, even as excitement flooded through her when she saw Nathan’s message. “Up until a few days ago, I hated the guy.”

“Mm, hmm,” Addie said. “Nathan just texted you, didn’t he?”

“How do you know that?” Harper said.

“The look on your face. It’s the same look you had when you were ten, and your dad told you he was taking you to Disney Land for your eleventh birthday.”

“To be fair, Nathan’s asking for a hookup tonight, and I just told you he was the best sex of my life. You can’t tell me you don’t start drooling when Preacher wants sex because I know you do.”

“He wants to get together tonight? Weren’t you just there last night?” Addison said.

“Yes,” Harper said as the door to Addie’s apartment opened.

“Sunshine, I’m home,” Preacher called.

Harper made a kissy face before whispering teasingly, “I love you, Sunshine. You’re my sunshine, Sunshine.”

Addie poked her in the side. “Behave, Harper.”

“Never,” Harper said. She stood up as Preacher walked into the living room.

“Hey, Harper.” He leaned over and kissed Addie. “Sorry, I’m late. Last appointment ran long.”

“That’s okay.” She smiled at him as he glanced at Harper’s sketchpad.

“Cool sketch,” he said.

“See,” Addison said to Harper. “I told you it was good.”

“Thanks, Preacher.” Without bothering to close her sketchpad, Harper stuck it and her pencil into her bag and slung it over her shoulder. “I gotta run, pinky-pie.”

“Why don’t you have dinner with us before you go over to your…friend’s place,” Addie said. “It’s already after seven. You don’t want to pass out during…”
