“What’s wrong?”he asked.

“Nothing,” shesaid. “I’ve just never, you know…”

He took a stepback and gave her a cautious look. “Never what, Kira?”

“I’ve never hada guy, uh, see my…”

She stoppedagain, her embarrassment growing when his gaze narrowed.

“What exactlyhave you done?” he asked.

She cleared herthroat. “Well, I’ve kissed guys – not very well, obviously – anddone some other stuff.”

“What otherstuff?”

“You know -stuff.”

“Tell me.”

“I’ve done abit of, um, groping. Uh – under the shirt but over the bra, sort ofthing.”

His look ofsurprise made her feel about three feet tall. “What?”

“You’retwenty-five years old, Kira.”

“So?”

“So, you’retelling me you’ve never even taken your shirt off in front of a guybefore?”

“You’re makingme sound like a freak,” she said angrily. “Stop it.”

He grasped herchin and forced her gaze to his. “You’re a virgin.”

“Yes,” shesaid.

“Why?”

“What do youmean, why?”

“Why are youstill a virgin? You’re smart and gorgeous and I’m sure you’ve hadplenty of opportunity. Why haven’t you had sex?”

“BecauseI’m…”

She wassuddenly ashamed to tell him the truth, but he made a low curseunder his breath and released her chin. “You’re saving yourself forDaniel.”

She didn’treply and he gave her a dark look of disapproval. “Daniel hasn’tdone the same for you. You can’t possibly be that naïve to think hehas.”

“I know that,”she snapped. “I just – it’s special to me, okay? I want him to haveit.”

He shook hishead in disgust. “He doesn’t deserve it, Kira.”

She glared athim. “Yes, he does.”

“No, hedoesn’t.”

“Let’s agree todisagree.” The exasperation was clear in her voice. “Can we just,uh, do some more kissing? We’ve still got some time.”

He grabbed hist-shirt. “No. I need to go.”
