“You’re buying a gift for your mom? That’sso sweet,” Cora said. Her hand lingered on Lucas’s arm and he grinned down at her.
“Us Willington boys know how to be sweet toour mama’s.”
Cora’s hand dropped off his arm, the smileon her face faltering. “You’re from Willington?”
Lucas glanced at Addison, his grin wideningbefore he turned back to Cora. “I am. You’re not gonna judge me for that, areyou? Because I live here now, and it’s been my impression so far that theFalls girls are all about being sweet.”
Cora laughed. “Sounds like you haven’t metthe right Falls girls yet.”
“Maybe not,” Lucas said.
Cora stared up at him for a few seconds. She was starting to look a little flustered. Addison didn’t blame her. Shewas surprised that Lucas was even single. He was a good looking guy. He hadthe cheekbones of a model, the tight lean body of a swimmer, and the littleflecks of green in his hazel eyes were very pretty.
You prefer dark eyes.
She did. Dark eyes and dark hair and a muscledtattoo covered body with rough talented hands that knew exactly how to touchher, and a mouth and tongue that knew where to kiss and where to lick and…
The yarn shop had suddenly heated up abouta thousand degrees. Maybe the air conditioner was broken. Addison fannedherself with her hand as a now familiar ache started in her lower belly. Maybeshe’d text Preacher tonight. He did say anytime she needed him for, uh, stuff, she could call.
No, what he said was anytime you neededyour tight pussy filled, he’d come over and give you his cock.
Her face flushed. Harrison never talkedduring sex, and he’d certainly never said anything dirty to her. Ever. She’dalways thought she preferred that, always thought that having a man talkingabout her body so crudely would be a huge turn-off.
How incredibly wrong she’d been.
“So, about that yarn,” Lucas said.
“Um, right.” Cora cleared her throat. “Whattype of yarn were you looking for.”
“I’m not really sure. I brought the lovelyAddison along to help me since she’s an expert like yourself,” Lucas said.
Cora smiled at Addison. “Actually, she’sprobably even more of an expert than me. Addison knows her stuff when it comesto yarn.”
“Then I guess I have the two best ladies inall of Harmony Falls to help me with my gift.” Lucas’s flirty grin brought a flushof colour to Cora’s cheeks.
“What type of stuff does your mom usuallyknit?” Addison said.
“She used to do a lot of baby clothes and smallerstuff, but now she does mostly blankets for a few of the churches in town whohand them out to people in need in the community.” Lucas’s cheerful face darkeneda smidge. “Mom’s got arthritis in her hands. It’s harder for her to knitnow. She used to do really intricate looking things, but she says now that shecan really only do the easy stuff, it’s gentler on her hands.”
“Okay,” Cora said. “Well, if that’s thecase, then she probably uses bigger needles and a bulkier yarn. Blankets knitup faster with the bigger needles and bulkier yarn. It’s over here.”
Addison trailed after Cora and Lucas to theback of the store to the bulky yarn section. She stopped a few feet away, her fingerstrailing lightly over a basket full of angora yarn and watched as Cora andLucas perused the wall of yarn.
“What’s her favourite colour?” Cora asked. She was standing a little closer than necessary to Lucas, and Addison hid her grinwhen Cora let her hand rest on Lucas’s arm and thrust her small chest out justthe tiniest bit. She was working the flirting hard, and Addison secretlycheered her on. Cora was a lovely woman and her fun and flirty nature was theperfect fit to Lucas’s personality.
“Hey, Addison.”
Addison smiled at Emma when she joinedher. Emma was wearing a pair of dark green capris and a t-shirt with an imageof two large balls of yarn and the phrase, ‘I like big balls’ across her ample chest.
“How are you, Emma?”
“Good, thanks.” Emma eyed Lucas’s assbefore lowering her voice. “Who’s that tall drink of water?”
“Lucas Wright. He just moved here from NewCassel but he’s originally from Willington. He works for that wealthy videogame guy. I can’t remember his name. The one who’s opening up a company herein the Falls.”
Emma’s eyes widened. “Isaac Stark? He worksfor Isaac Stark of Stark Enterprises?”
“Yes. Why do you look like that?” Addison said.
