He opened the door to her floor and headed towardher apartment. No, he wasn’t. She could say no but she didn’t because she wantedhim just as much as he wanted her. He thought back to this morning and the wayshe’d looked when they were finished fucking. He’d brought her to orgasm threetimes and her soft and perfect body was sated and limp when he left her in bedand dragged his ass to work.

He didn’t want to admit that he’d beentempted to cancel all his appointments and spend the entire day in her bed. Hecouldn’t get enough of her, and already his cock was hardening at just thethought of being inside her again.

He raised his hand to knock but the dooropened before he could. His semi disappeared immediately at the look on Addison’sface. “What’s wrong?”

Her face was blotchy, her nose was red, andher eyes were watery. He stepped inside and shut the door. “Are you crying?”

“No, no,” she said. “I just, um…”

“Why are you crying?”

“I’m not.” Her eyes watered even more, andshe turned away. “It’s been a bit of a bad day. I’m going to get a drink. Wouldyou like something?”

She walked to the kitchen without waitingfor a reply, leaving him standing by the front door. What the fuck was going on?Why was she crying? Had that prick of an ex-fiancé upset her?

How fucking stupid are you, buddy? Youreally can’t figure it out?

How the hell was he supposed to know whatwas making her cry? He wasn’t a goddamn mind …

Shit. The woman out front with the weddingdress. It was Addison’s wedding dress. She was upset because she sold herdress.

Yeah, because she still loves thatasshole.

She didn’t. She couldn’t. Not after what he’ddone to her.

If she doesn’t, why is she crying over sellingher wedding dress? If she hated him, wouldn’t she be happy to get rid of herdress?

He reached for the door handle. Addisonwas obviously upset, and she wouldn’t be in the mood for sex. And he wasn’t inthe mood to stick around and let her cry on his shoulder about how much shemissed that asshole Harrison.

Don’t be such a dick. You’re reallygonna walk out when she’s upset and needs someone to talk to? She’s a sweetgirl and deserves better than that. Hell, she deserves better than you.

That was for fucking sure. Still, thethought of leaving while she sat in her apartment alone and cried, made himfeel pretty fucking awful. He realized that he wanted to make her feelbetter. That knowing she was upset was upsettinghim. If making herfeel better meant listening to her sob about how much she still loved that undeservingprick instead of having sex with her, he would do it. It wouldn’t fucking killhim.

He took his boots off and walked into the kitchen.Addison was standing at the counter and pouring a glass of wine. “Would youlike a glass?”

“No, thanks.”

He watched as she took two healthy swallowsof the wine. She still had her back turned to him, and he said, “You okay?”

“Yes.” She drank the rest of the wine and turnedto face him. “Ready?”

He stared at her. “For what?”

She smiled but it looked forced and unnatural.“Another lesson.”

“You’re obviously upset.”

“I’ll get over it. Let’s go have sex.”

“Do you want to talk about why you’re upset?”he said.

To his immense surprise, she shook herhead. “No, I’m good.”

She tried to slip by him, and he took herarm, tugging her to a stop. “Addie, you’re not good.”

“I am,” she insisted. “Please, I don’twant to talk. You’re here for sex, right? So, let’s have sex.”

He pulled her into his arms. She was stiffand she left her arms at her sides as he rubbed her back. He didn’t say anythingand after only a minute or two, she relented and softened against him, burying herface in his neck. He waited for the tears to fall, but his little Sunshinesurprised him again.
