Her dragon growled angrily, and she tasted smokein the back of her throat. She stalked forward, placing a possessive hand onthe back of her mate’s neck, and stared at the witch sitting at the table. “Doyou wish to have my mate as your own, little witch?”

Elora shook her head. “No, not at all.”

“You spend a lot of time with him,” Kaidasaid.

“We’re friends,” Bren said. “That’s it, Kaida.I promise.”

Her dragon surging forward to egg her on, shebent her head and kissed her mate hard on the mouth. She lifted her head, smilingat the scent of his lust, before her gaze narrowed on the witch again. “He ismine, little witch. Keep your hands off of him.”

“No problem,” Elora said.

“Good. Leave. Bren and I need to mate.”

“Uh, sit down and have some tea with us first,”Bren said. He stood and took her hand, urging her to sit in the chair acrossfrom him. Glancing at Elora, he poured some tea from the pot on the table intoa mug and handed it to her before returning to his seat. “Go on, drink.”

“I don’t want tea,” Kaida said. She triednot to let her exasperation with him show. Her need to fuck him was growing bythe second and she was terribly afraid that if they didn’t have sex soon, she woulddo something truly awful, like force him into her bed.

You don’t need to force him. Our mate wantsus, her dragon replied.

“Just one cup. For me?” Bren said.

Unable to deny her mate, she sat down witha heavy thump into the chair and took a sip of the fragrant smelling tea. It lefta strange taste on her tongue, and she frowned as a weird tingling went downher spine. “What kind of tea is this?”

“My own blend,” the witch replied.

“Drink some more,” Bren said. He lifted hisown mug to his mouth and after a moment, Kaida followed suit. She took threebig gulps of the warm liquid to satisfy her mate and then set the cup down.

“There, I’ve drank the tea.” She turnedand forced a smile at the witch. “Leave now.”

“Why don’t you have a shower first,” Brensaid. “Elora and I will finish our tea and then I’ll, uh, join you in the bedroom.”

Her dragon hissed angrily but Kaida decidedit wasn’t a bad idea. She was feeling a little weird and too warm and the ideaof a cool shower was appealing. “All right.”

She stood, smiling at the way her mate’sgaze dropped first to her tits and then to her legs. If the witch wasn’t here,she’d strip off her mate’s t-shirt and show him exactly what he was missing outon.

Instead, she tugged at the hem of her shirtbefore kissing Bren again. She traced her fingers across the morning stubbleon his jawline. God, she loved his lips. They were perfect. Everything abouthim was perfect.

She pulled back instead of straddling himin the chair like she wanted to and forced another smile at the witch. “Good-bye.”

“Uh, bye, Kaida. Nice to see you again.”

She returned to the master bathroom, turningon the shower and stripping off Bren’s shirt. He had a nice apartment, but hewould still need to move in with her, she mused. She could not live so far fromher clan, no matter how much she loved her mate. She stepped into the showerand stood under the cool spray of water. It sent goosebumps pinging to life onher heated skin and her dragon purred happily.

She would have to move into one of thebigger empty cabins. Her small cabin was comfortable, but it would not be bigenough for her and her mate. Especially if Tyler lived with them. Which,considering what a huge dickhead his father was, it could happen.

She washed her hair with her mate’s shampooand used his body wash to lather her skin.

She would ask Cadmus if she could have the emptycabin next to Bones and Javee. It had three bedrooms. They were small but atleast that way Tyler would have his own room and they’d have a nursery as well.

Nursery?

She stared at her hand resting on her flat stomach.Nursery? Why would she need a nursery?

For when we are with our mate and….

Her dragon fell silent. She could feel itsconfusion and she braced one hand on the slick shower wall.

Why would she and her dragon think Bren washer mate? She was attracted to the human but the idea of her mating with ahuman was laughable. Even if she didn’t set him on fire while they werefucking, she’d be kicked out of the clan if they ever found out she’d slept witha human.
