She’s soaking wet, so slippery with desire I want to bury more than my tongue inside her. She tastes even better than I imagined. So ready for me, so responsive, so delicious. I lick her greedily, sucking and biting until I’m devouring her with no restraint.

She cries out, burying her fingers in my hair. “Holy shit,” she pants. “You’re so fucking good at this. It’s not fair…”

Her voice trails off as I slide one finger inside her, stroking her hard and eating her until she’s making incoherent sounds and shaking so hard I have to hook her leg over my shoulder for support.

Harder, faster, deeper, I stroke her and suck her, savoring every sound of pleasure tumbling from her lips. I’m so hard, I want to reach down and free my aching dick, but I hold myself back, doubling down on my efforts to make her come. Time is running out, and there’s no way I’m losing this bet.

I drive her to the edge, and then push her right over. She bucks wildly against me, calling out my name as she comes on my tongue.

CHAPTER 26

The Man of the Hour

My mother looks Jay up and down with a critical gaze. “You must be the young man who’s making Mia so happy lately,” she says.

My cheeks burn as I remember just how happy he made me a few minutes ago, using nothing but his very talented mouth. I can’t find my voice, but Jay steps in smoothly, reaching out to take my mom’s hand.

“It’s an honor to make Mia happy,” he says, his voice full of smooth satisfaction. “She makes me happy, too.”

“Mom, this is Jay.”

“It’s very nice to meet you, Jay.” Her gaze lands on me. “You look lovely, Mia. I didn’t think black was your color, but it suits you.”

It’s just like mom to give me a backhanded compliment. But I’ll take what I can get from her. At least she hasn’t started with how sorry she is for me that it’s not my wedding.

After an awkward silence, Mom excuses herself to have a word with the wedding planner.

“You look gorgeous.” Jay’s hot gaze slides over me. “I knew that dress would be perfect.”

The short, fitted dress hugs me in all the rightplaces. It’s classic with just a hint of sexy. The square neckline shows a glimpse of cleavage, and the capped sleeves add a touch of flair.

“You did an excellent job,” I say.

His lips curve in a quick smile that is gone nearly before I catch sight of it. “Don’t sound so surprised.”

“I’m going to see you in that flowered shirt before the weekend is over.”

He slips an arm around my waist. “You want to make another bet?” His palm spreads over the small of my back. “I’m game.”

Serenade Island is one of the most romantic spots I’ve ever been in my life. The balmy heat, the scent of the ocean in the air, and the sound of waves crashing against the sand in the distance make this the perfect place to get married.

Or kiss your tatted-up, motorcycle-riding, bad-boy boyfriend.

I stretch up on my toes and wrap my arms around his neck, not caring who is watching or what they think. Our lips meet in a soft promise of more bets to come. Bets I wouldn’t mind losing.

“Get a room!” Brad’s voice booms from nearby.

Jay eases back. “I should have tossed him overboard,” he says, loudly enough for Brad to hear.

“Calm down, Lovebug.” I pat Jay’s arm. “Brad isn’t worth the trouble.”

“Speaking of trouble,” Brad says. “I have some weed gummies if you want one.” He reaches into his jacket pocket. “Don’t tell Anna.”

“Don’t tell Anna what?” Anna asks, coming up behind her husband.

“Nothing,” Brad says, turning to greet Anna. “I’m just making sure Mia is signed up to sing at karaoke tonight.”

“I don’t sing,” I say. “You know that.”
