His fingers dove into her wet depths and holding back was no longer an option. He had to have her. He had to be inside of her. Now!
Pulling her forward, he watched as he slid into her body, inch by inch, seeing her glistening flesh open to accept him. When he was inside her, he looked into her eyes. They were soft and filled with wonder, her mouth opened with surprise. But then her hips rolled and he began to move.
He kissed her while stroking her body, moving in and out of her tight sheath, faster, slower, trying different angles until he heard her cry out with her climax. Only then did he release his control and thrust into her faster, harder. He heard another muffled cry that he absorbed into his mouth while his own orgasm washed over him.
Finally, he collapsed, still holding her, as they relearned how to breathe. He felt her fingers in his hair, her legs wrapped around his waist and Amit knew that if he died in this moment, he’d die content.
Chapter 37
“What the hell do you mean?” Jadwat demanded. “I was told that there was a ligi berry dispute here between Lativa and your government. I was sent here to help. So, let me help! I want to see these berry bushes for myself so that I can determine if there is any advantage to them!”
Prime Minister Ilken of Ifidosal smiled patiently and bowed politely. “The country of Ifidosal welcomes you to our beautiful island,” Ilken said, gesturing towards the waiting car. “However, we do not allow foreigners to view our beautiful ligi berry bushes. Not after what happened six months ago. The ligi berry is our ticket back into the world market.” He leaned forward and whispered, “It’s our secret weapon!”
Jadwat rolled his eyes and pulled his rather sweaty dress shirt away from his skin. The temperature was well into the nineties already, but it was the humidity that was difficult to cope with.
“I understand,” he replied, wiping his brow and wishing that he had a hat. This sun was miserable! And he was ready to do nearly anything for air-conditioning! Looking around, it seemed as if the whole country was some sort of open-air, yoga-loving, humidity-fest! “However, why don’t you just show me what’s at risk, then I can see how I can help?”
Ilken nodded again, but his smile tightened. “Why don’t we discuss this further over something cold to drink?”
Jadwat considered that for a moment. He suspected that the idiot was stalling, but couldn’t figure out why. Regardless of the reason, Jadwat needed to wrap this up, grab some berry bush samples, and return to Uftar. He had a lady waiting in shackles that would bring his prick of a cousin to his knees!
“That would be wonderful,” he replied in as calm of a voice as possible instead of snapping again. Perhaps when he was cooler, and out of this damn humidity, he could think more clearly.
Stepping into the limousine, Jadwat sighed with relief as the cold air washed over him. But after only moments, the blasting, icy air was too much. Because of the humidity, the air conditioning made him shiver!
“For the love of…! Turn that blasted thing off!”
The chauffer glanced in the rear view mirror, startled by an angry outburst by someone who was supposed to be a diplomat. After a tense moment, the driver reached forward and lowered the air volume. He didn’t warm up the air, but Jadwat was satisfied.
“So, where are these berries?” he asked the prime minister for what had to be at least the third time.
The PM’s smile had vanished entirely. He didn’t even bow as he said crisply, “The berries are in a secure location. However, I’ve arranged for my driver to show you around the island. You may visit some of our more beautiful sites.”
Jadwat rolled his eyes. “This is going to be a lot more productive if you just give me the information I need. My cousin can’t help you against Sheik Khal’s formidable access if you don’t.”
The man simply sat very still, without responding.
Disgusted, Jadwat turned away and gazed out the window. The island looked pretty enough from inside an air-conditioned vehicle. The houses he could see in the distance were large with nice landscaping. There was the turquoise promise of the ocean further beyond, the waves rippling against the shoreline. And he could see the white ribbon of a beach with several people enjoying the water’s edge. Jadwat wondered what it would feel like to swim in the ocean.
The vehicle drove into the surprisingly large city, which was bustling with activity. There was a thriving economy here, and Jadwat wondered why he’d assumed that the whole island would be covered in straw huts. This was a much stronger country than he’d realized. Perhaps he should ease up on the arrogance a bit, he decided.
Glancing at his phone, he frowned at the lack of a signal. Looking around, he mentally sighed. Maybe when he got to the hotel, he’d have a better connection. He needed to send a message to start the plan back home. And he needed to find out what was going on with that bitch! Was she behaving in her cage? Probably not, he thought with a silent smirk of triumph. She was a feisty one.
Chapter 38
“We’re never going to find her!” Angela groaned, leaning against the ancient stone wall and letting her sneakered feet slide out from underneath her. Once her bottom was safely on the ground, she sighed hugely for dramatic effect.
“We will find her!” Zayn replied with absolute certainty as he plopped down beside Angela.
Rafi snorted, but sat down on her other side, trying unsuccessfully to mask his frustration. “We’ve figured out all of the clues so far. We can figure this one out too.”
Laith sat down, but his decent was more practiced and he sat with his legs crossed underneath him, frowning thoughtfully. “Dad always says to focus on the positives, then figure out the obstacles.” He looked around at the other three. “What are the positives?” When silence followed, he urged, “Hey, we’ve found every clue so far. That’s something!”
Angela nodded, feeling minutely better. “He’s right. I just…didn’t think it would be this hard.”
“Me neither,” Rafi replied with a heavy sigh. “What would Dad do now?”
The four of them pondered for a long moment. Then Zayn blurted out, “He’d ask for help.”
