Doing as I’m told, I knock before opening the door, finding Geo lying on his bed throwing a baseball up into the air before catching it, mimicking the words to the song without making a sound. Or, at least, I think he’s mimicking, because I can’t hear a fucking thing over the pounding of the bass.
When our presence isn’t instantly noticed, I make the executive decision to surprise him, opting to run and jump onto his bed. I startle him enough that the ball drops to the floor when he’s forced to catch me in its stead, shocked hazel eyes widening in alarm before they soften significantly when he realizes it’s only me that pounced on him.
With a press of a button on his cell that sits on the nightstand, the music instantly shuts off, the silence almost deafening as soon as the song cuts out. It’s only then that Geo finally speaks, “Not that I don’t welcome the intrusion, because fuck knows I’m happy to see your beautiful face, but can I ask what the occasion calls for? Can I smell brownies?”
Laughing, I rearrange myself on top of Geo, helping myself to his lap as he sits up and leans against his bed frame without an ounce of complaint at having me in his space. In fact, the big burly beta bundles me closer, his shock fading quickly to make way for happiness and satisfaction.
“Came for a chat,” I answer, gesturing to Evron who still stands in the doorway with our dessert. “Apparently, you guys had a conversation I only now thought to ponder on myself. So, we’re here to fill me in on what you discussed.”
Apparently, that’s all my beta needs before his smile grows crooked and understanding fills his eyes, and he jerks his head for Evron to enter and shut the door after himself.
Taking a seat on the end of the bed, Evron hands over our respective bowls of brownies and admits, “I told her we all spoke about bonds and such after her first night here, but there was something specific she wanted to talk to you about, given that you’re our one and only beta of the pack.”
Geo turns his face back to me and I shrug in answer to the question in his eyes, confirming Evron’s words without uttering a single one myself.
“What do you want to know, Firecracker?” Geo asks, settling deeper against his bedframe as he rests his bowl on his chest and reaches for me to sit more fully on top of him, my legs framing his as I sit on his lap with my own bowl of dessert clutched in my hand.
With a shrug, I ignore the rosy hue my cheeks have taken, the heat warm enough to indicate that I’m already embarrassingly blushing, and hurry to say, “Munro mentioned something earlier about how betas can’t bond, and I got to wondering how that will work with us, is all. I mean, if I could bite you and form a bond, I’d do it in a heartbeat. But I guess I just wanted to know if having a bond is something you wanted, or if it was something you’re happy to live without. I guess I just want to know where your head is at on the whole thing.”
I don’t bother mentioning how he seemed a bit out of sorts this morning, instead opting to shovel a spoonful of dessert in my mouth while I wait for an answer.
Geo takes his time mulling over his words, before deciding on, “Do I want a bond with you? Absolutely, no questions asked, without a doubt. Can I have one? Not without bonding with one of the guys. The twins already share a bond with one another through their twin genetics, and will share one with you, which is enough for the two of them. Creek is usually private with his emotions, so I’ll be damned if I impose on that. The only one left is Ev-”
“And he is more than willing to offer a bond if it means you get to experience our omega like we will. It won’t be the same, apparently slightly muted, but there will be a bond there. You’ll get to feel Juno similar to how we will,” Ev finishes. “I’ve already told you I’d be willing to bite you, bro. Not romantically, of course. My wiener only has the hots for the piece of ass on your lap, but hell, if it means we all end up as a connected pack with no man left behind, I’ll bite the shit out of you.”
Geo and I share a stunned look, though Geo looks less shocked than me, but I assume it’s because they’ve already discussed this in length already and I’m the silly goose playing catch-up.
When I catch the reluctance in Geo, I quietly ask, “You can tell me the truth, Rocky. I won’t judge, get emotional, or kick your ass. What’s stopping you from agreeing to a bond with Ev?”
Geo laughs, rolling his head along his bedframe, before he stops and looks at me. Really looks at me. His hazel eyes roam over every inch, and his eyebrows pucker before he finally confesses, “I don’t want to be an imposition. A burden. Something to regret. Bonds are irreversible, so once it’s done, it’s done. There’s no getting rid of the emotional link, and I don’t want to lump any of the guys with a link they never planned on giving.”
Before I can even conjure a response, Evron sighs from behind me before he laughs. “You’re an idiot, bro.”
Geo and I turn our glares onto him in perfect synchrony, and the copper-haired alpha holds his hands up in surrender with another chuckle. “Wow, now, now. What I mean is, think about what you’re saying. I wouldn’t have offered a bond with you if I wasn’t serious about it. That I was comfortable with it. Out of us all, you and I are the closest. I can already read you like a book without some link connecting us, bro. Having a bond won’t make much of a difference. The only thing that will change is that I can suss your moods out a little better and vice versa. On top of that, you’ll get to feel Juno, too.”
“See,” I offer softly, discarding my now empty bowl and placing it on Geo’s nightstand. “You wouldn’t be a burden, babe. You’d be a bonus link that Evron is happy to offer.”
“Certainly will,” my flirty alpha confirms easily, a seriousness in his voice that normally isn’t present. It makes me smile, and I can’t help but wink at him over my shoulder. He takes that as an invitation to sneak closer, plastering his bare front to my back as he bands his arms over my chest. Dropping his chin to my head, I feel him shrug as he says, “I’m pretty sure it was always the plan for one of us to bond with you, anyway. I vaguely remember aconversation a few years back about it, and the guys all agreed that a bond would happen, just to make us a complete unit. Not that you being unbonded would make us incomplete, but I just don’t think the others saw us as a pack without all of us forming some kind of bond. So, the choice is yours, brother. I’ll give you a bond, but only if it’s what you want.”
And with that, Evron removes his chin from my head, dipping his mouth toward my neck. His lips brush over Creek’s bond mark and I shiver, a curiosity thrumming down the thread between me and my alpha. When I send back a pulse of desire, I receive a pang of envy, humor, and love before Creek’s emotions settle, and I sigh into Evron’s touch.
That small sound must be all the confirmation Ev needs, because one moment I’m seated on Geo’s lap, and the next I’m standing next to the bed while Evron begins removing every article of clothing from my body, his touch confident and sure. My shirt disappears first, landing in a heap on the floor at the end of the bed, quickly followed by my jeans and socks.
I’m breathing hard as my body wakes up with a flood of arousal, Ev’s darkened gaze roaming over my body with a heated expression that does things for me. Really good, sexy things.
“You already smell like the best dessert I’m going to have today, Blue,” my flirty alpha comments, grinning cheekily at me as I shiver, all too aware that there’s slick already pooling between my legs and I’m so turned on that there’s no mistaking the turn my scent has taken. “How about we give Geo a show while he thinks about his options? Maybe he’ll come to a decision after the second or third orgasm I’m planning on giving you.”
I’m already nodding, beyond on-board with that plan. So much so that I whip my bra off and slide my panties to the floor with very little prompting, enjoying the way both men’s eyes darken with desire as they eye every bare inch of me. I don’t even feel the need to cover my scars, displaying them proudly before I climb into Evron’s lap and tease, “I guess it’s showtime, baby.”
“Oh, fuck yeah,” Evron blurts, right before the sneaky bastard grabs me and flips our positions, my body falling to the bed as he sprawls me over Geo’s bed with only my legs hanging off the edge.
With very little time wasted, Evron is suddenly on his knees between my legs, hooking the backs of my knees over his shoulder moments before he buries his face between my thighs with a guttural groan of approval.
The first lick of his tongue through my folds makes me moan loudly, the wicked heat running through the slick gathered between my legs teasing more from my body. I hear the shuffle of bed sheets as Geo moves around, his quiet curse the only indication I have that he’s watching the show before him.
“Oh, fuck,” I proclaim when Ev hardens his tongue and pushes it inside my welcoming body, lapping at me like a stray kitten who’s been blessed with a saucer of milk.
Without much cognitive thought from my brain, my hand finds itself entangled in Evron’s hair, his groan growing as he licks, sucks, and nips at me with gusto, his enthusiasm momentarily rendering me brainless. I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again. How the hell did I get so lucky to have these men in my life?
