The moment the omega is gone, Silver’s shoulders drop and she groans pitifully, reaching behind her for the zipper of the dress that doesn’t hold her personality. “So, I’m absolutely not showing off more clothes. As fun as it was, and as much as I didn’t want to disappoint him, I’m done. My entire body is aching like a total bitch. Juniper is a shopping psycho, and I’ve been on my feet for the past five fucking hours already.”
Haze laughs while I remain content to watch her, and says, “How about we hang out with food and movies instead? Our treat.”
Silver playfully sobs, still trying to reach her zipper. “That sounds like heaven.”
“Alright, gorgeous. I’ll go place an order while you get into comfy clothes. Want anything in particular?” he asks, standing from his seat, leaving me alone in the nest of pillows and cushions I could easily fall asleep in.
“Anything that sounds good to you guys,” she replies, smiling with relief at my brother, before disappearing into the closet.
When she’s gone, Haze looks down at me with a raised eyebrow. “Burgers and fries?”
I nod, my stomach growling with approval. “Make sure you order for Aero, too. You know he’ll pitch a fit if he finds out we had burgers and fries without him.”
Snorting, Haze throws me a thumbs up and leaves to place an order for takeout. I’m alone in the nest for all of two minutes before I hear a feminine grunt and a colorful streak of curse words coming from the closet.
Sitting up in my seat, I watch the doorway before calling, “Sunshine, you good?”
I’m met with silence before a long, tired sigh, followed by Silver confessing, “I’m stuck in the stupid, slutty funeral dress. I need help.”
I close my eyes and fight my laughter, rising and carefully stepping into the closet, only to find Silver in a bit of a state. My laughter leaves me in a roar of hilarity when I see one arm sticking over the dress, the sleeve tucked beneath one armpit, while the right arm remains safely inside the other. The zipper is stuck halfway down her back, the dress still cinched at her waist too tight to wriggle out of without breaking something, and she looks totally flustered as she stands there with her hair a mess and a fierce scowl that eases the longer I laugh.
“Sorry,” I mutter, wiping a hand over my face, even as a few more chuckles escape me. “Come here. I’ll get you out of there.”
Without a word, Silver tiptoes to where I stand, turning her back to me with a desperation that makes me snort.
“It’s not funny,” she gripes, though it doesn’t come out as sternly as she likely meant for it to.
I’m grinning when I say, “To you, probably not. To me? I’m still finding it difficult not to laugh again. Wish I’d taken a photo to look back on.”
“Asshole alpha,” she breathes, right before she giggles and groans. “I knew this dress was a mistake.”
“It does look good on you,” I admit, my knuckles brushing the bare skin of her back when I reach for the zipper. Silver shivers against me, and I’m sure she perfumes slightly, but I can’t be sure. The entire nest smells like her, so I could be delusional. Ignoring it for now, I begin my mission to rescue her from the dress, confessing, “But it’s definitely not you, Sunshine.”
“Yeah, that’s what I thought, too,” she agrees, sighing when my skin connects with hers in a gentle caress as I wrangle the zipper free.
“There. All free,” I mutter, running my knuckles up her spine without much thought to it.
When I realize what I’m doing, I go to pull back, feeling mortified. That is, until Silver moans softly and mutters, “That feels nice. My back and shoulders are killing me after the shopping day of hell Juno put me through. Who knew the girl could spend money the way she did?”
Eyebrows drawing down in concentration, I decide to pamper her a little, since she’s enjoying my touch. I shuffle a little closer and reach for her shoulders, careful not to put too much pressure on her sore spots, but enough that she groans and damn near melts into a puddle at my feet. When my thumbs dig into a particularly good spot, Silver moans loudly, and she leans into my touch. Only, she leans a little too close, and the erection that sprung up at the first sound of her pleasure brushes along the curve of her ass.
We both freeze, my hands still all over her, and my breath catches in my chest while I wait for whatever reaction I’m about to receive.
I’m expecting an awkward laugh, a gentle brush off before pretending it never happened, that she didn’t feel my raging hard-on rub against her, only I’m shocked when Silver turns and peers up at me from beneath her eyelashes, my hands still touching the warmth of her skin. Her pupils are slightly dilated, just like they had been when I purred, and suddenly, my chest is vibrating as if one look from the omega can command it into existence.
I’m as still as stone, watching and waiting, unsure of what to expect. It’s certainly not Silver’s hand wrapping around my neck while she pulls me into a hard, greedy kiss, but I’ll be damned to the eighth circle of hell if that’s not exactly what I receive.
It takes a moment for my short-circuiting brain to finally come back online, and my purr grows louder as soon as I frame Silver’s face with my large hands and kiss her back with just as much vigor and enthusiasm, swallowing her moan as quickly as it appeared.
“Well, that looks tastier than any burger or fry I want to eat,” my brother’s voice suddenly comments, and I part from Silver’s searching lips for only a moment, my gaze connecting with his for a split second before Silver is kissing me again, like she can’t help it.
That one look is enough, though. The matching heat in my twin’s eyes cements the direction which this fashion show has taken, and I don’t bother fighting it. I want Silver too much to even try.
So, with renewed energy, I tilt Silver’s face at a better angle, and I fucking devour her the way I’ve been dying to since the moment I realized how much I liked her.
