I sigh. Unfortunately, I can't sit in the bathroom forever and need to get out of here.
When I open the door, I notice that everyone is still asleep, except for a huge body that walks around the kitchen like it's his house. There is still a heavy smell in the flat. I walk past the drunken bodies and make my way to the kitchen. I love Sebastian's flat. It is a studio apartment, he had been looking for it for quite some time. Everything is decorated in a similar design. Starting from the sofa and ending with soft chairs in the kitchen, everything is in a dark gray design. The kitchen set is also gray, the only thing that differs in colour is the table, small, round, but white.
"Coffee?" Danylo offers and pours himself a cup. Then he goes to take some milk from the fridge.
I look at him sideways.
"What? I only drink Americano with cold milk," he shrugs.
"I don't drink coffee," I go to one of the cupboards and take out a bag of green tea.
"No one will give you a medal for that. He smiles.
Danylo sits down on a chair and turns his whole body to me.
He still hasn't put his shirt on.
"Firstly, coffee is a diuretic, the more we drink it, the more nutrients are released from our body, secondly, it stimulates intestinal peristalsis, so we have time to absorb less of what we have eaten, and it also increases the release of norepinephrine, renin and the sensitivity of the myocardium to calcium, which, in turn, affects the rhythm of the heart, and thirdly, I manage perfectly well without it." Danylo smiles.
"Four points, wikipedia. This is great, but coffee contains important compounds for the body: caffeine, chlorogenic acid, terpenes, which have an anti-inflammatory effect," he approaches me and leans down. "And it also has a pleasant taste," and puts the cup in the sink.
"I can argue with that too," I answer when I finally make myself some tea and reach for the sugar.
"Maybe let's talk about the harmful effects of sugar?" "I suggest we sit in silence," I say, and Bondar nods.
I take a notebook that is lying on the table and a pen. I need to make a to-do list for this week, I missed quite a lot of material.
"So, what do you study?" he moves the chair closer and tries to read what I write in the notebook.
I close the notebook and turn to Danylo.
"Medicine." I answer briefly.
"What course?"
"The third."
"What do you plan to major in?"
"Cardiology."
"Sixth year, neurosurgery."
"Great," I smile. "But I didn't ask you, Bondar." I turn away from him and continue to write plans.
"So, you and Sebastian brother and sister?"
"No, Adam and Eve, what’s the point of stupid questions? What else is left on your endless list of questions?" I raise my eyebrows to the top.
"Scar," he says quietly and pauses for a moment, "were you operated on?"
I freeze. I stop breathing. I look in front of me and remain silent.
"I'm sorry," he touches my hand, "I didn't want to upset you, I just noticed it when you were in your underwear. Heart problems?" "It doesn't matter," I say and take my hand away.
"I know how it is when you want to close yourself off from the whole world, but don't think that this will save you."
What does he have to do with my life? Teach others, not me.
