“I think we should talk,” I rasp out.

Her lips part as if she’s about to say something, but the words never leave her mouth. She clenches her legs around me, the apex of her thighs grinding against my cock. It’s such an exquisite sensation. Such a rush. True pleasure on the verge of real pain.

My grasp tightens, my fingers digging into her softness. A low sound rumbles in my chest. I suck in another breath through clenched teeth.

Drew brings the upper part of her body down on mine and kisses me. Slowly. There’s a pounding in her chest. It’s just as strong as the pounding of my own heart.

“I don’t want to mess this up,” I tell her, cupping her cheek when she finally tears her mouth from mine. “I don’t want to do something…that…you won’t enjoy.”

She swallows.

“I’ve never experienced the things I’m experiencing when I’m with you,” I continue. “What if we’re rushing into this?” I can’t believe I’m actually saying this shit. In my shady past, I fucked women who I knew less than a minute and whose names I didn’t even care to ask for before, during, or after the fact, but with Drew, it all feels like the first fucking time and that’s the one that counts. “It has to be right… It has to be right for the both of us…and our plane is leaving in a couple of hours.”

She nods, just a tilt of her head. “Please promise me you won’t treat me like a delicate snowflake when it happens.”

“Never.” I kiss her cheek and whisper, “I’ll treat you exactly how you deserve to be treated. Like a fucking queen.” My hands slip from beneath her nightgown and come around her waist. Carefully, I roll her over to the side, and for a while, we just lie there, staring at each other.

It’s the muffled ping of my phone that ruins the silence around us.

I ignore it.

Another ping.

I ignore it again.

“What if it’s an emergency?” Drew says.

With a groan, I shift to the side of the bed and scour the room. It’s coming from the chair, where my jeans are.

While I’m checking my emails and messages, Drew slips out of the bedroom but leaves the door open. Moments later, the sound of running water carries over from across the suite.

My concentration is shot to shit.

Fuck me.

I have to read the reminders from Ian twice before they finally start making sense. There’s a war going on inside me. It’s the animal and the nice guy fighting.

She didn’t shut the door for a reason, the little voice in my head laughs wickedly. She wants company.

I almost give in, but the second I take a step in the direction of her room, the water stops. She’s finished taking a shower, and despite part of me being a little disappointed, I’m glad things didn’t go any further today.

I want to savor her. I want to savor every second I’ll be ravishing her body. And two hours isn’t enough time. Not in the slightest.

We’re on our way to the airport and the driver is gunning the car through the midday traffic as if it’s a life and death situation.

Outside, the surroundings go by in a blur. Drew’s head is resting against the crook of my neck, and my arm is wrapped around her, our hands locked together, our knees touching. She’s quiet and her gaze is trained on the window. There’s a small frown above her nose, which is insanely cute, and I want to know what’s going on in her head right now.

I want to know what she’s thinking.

I want to know her dreams.

I want to know her fears.

I want to know everything down to the smallest, most insignificant detail.

My phone pings again in my pocket, reminding me that I’ve been trying to find the right moment to ask a certain question since the moment we left the hotel.

“Hey.” I reach for a button to activate the privacy divider. “Can I ask you something?”
