But there is still one thing I have to confess to Dash. It will be the final test to see if he has changed,

I found my purpose, and I need to convince him to help me fulfill it.

Chapter 69

Mila

A sheen of sweat slips between our bodies as we lay curled together. Dash is right; this is a punishment. He kept fucking me, then he began to make love to me. The sun vanished from the sky and rose a few hours ago. We’ve ignored our rumbling bellies. Our souls needed fed first.

Dash hasn’t asked me about what happened, but I can sense the mood in the house, even though we haven’t left the room. Hesitant steps come close to our door, only to be turned away by our moans.

Then I spoke; I told Dash about my time away from him, about my job in the cafe, and then the art classes. I retold every detail I could remember about Camilla, and then I told him that I had discovered what I wanted my purpose to be. I told him I wanted to be like Avery and Nova. I wanted to help other people escape this life.

“You haven’t said anything,” I whisper as my fingertips draw patterns over his chest.

“There is nothing to say. I’ll do it, little fox, I will help you save others.”

“You will?” I sit up; his eyes watch my hair fall over my naked breast.

“Yes.” He reaches out and cups my breast, warming it with his heated palm.

“But it’s dangerous. We will make enemies.” I say.

He shrugs,“I know, and I’ll take measures to protect us as best I can. If that is what you want, then we will do it.”

"But," I expected a fight. "Don't you have duties with King Corporations and The Rites of Passage?"

He reaches up and plays with my hair.“Now I need to tell you something,” He states.“Titan offered me something. He’s the firstborn; it’shimwho has a ruling seat in The Rites of Passage; Damian and I are meant to help him keep it. As for King Corporations, since our dads died, we’ve had other people running the company, and so far, they have been doing great. Our dads were always more involved with The Rites of Passage than the family business. King Corporation is set up to run on its own. We show face here and there to ensure it runs smoothly, but they don’t need me day to day.”

“What are you saying?”

“Titan offered me freedom. He told me once I get you back, to run and not look back. He’ll take over my side of the family business and make sure The Rites of Passage doesn’t bother us.” He says firmly, but I can see his tongue run over his teeth, like a sour taste in his mouth.

It’s everything I ever wanted, for him to run with me, to help me save others, but… “You would hate that life.”

“Not if I had you by my side.” He keeps his eyes focused on his fingers playing with my hair.

“Dash,” I reach out and turn his face to me,“I want everything with you, and that includes the baggage. That means Damian and Titan, and all the others. And The Rites of Passage.”

Dash rolls his eyes.“It doesn’t have to now.”

“No. We’re in this mess together. We’re a family. We can do this without running. I did run, and I wish I were strong enough to stand my ground and demand from you what I needed. We will do that.”

“There she is.” Dash pulls me down and rolls on top of me.“I always knew you were a predator; you have finally come out to play.”

“You were right.” I start to feel a heat pool on my thighs. I wrap my legs around him, forgetting the ache, needing to feel pleasure instead.

“I will run for you, Mila; just ask.”

“I know you would, but I’m tired of running. I’d rather my feet be in the air as you make love to me instead.”

Knock! Knock!“Can you both hurry the fuck up? Jesus, it’s been hours! We need to talk,” Cillian shouts in annoyance.

I bite down on my hand and giggle.

“I want you to scream so loud he will think twice about trying to interrupt us again.” Dash grins, and then he parts my legs and buries himself inside of me.
