“You…” she says.

“Are starving. Let’s eat, because after that. I’m having you for dessert all over this room.”

“I think I can be on board with that,” April says, the twinkle returning to her eyes as she stands and drops her robe. “How about naked dining?”

CHAPTER 65

APRIL

Ihear voices coming from the sitting room area. I realise it’s morning, and Caleb has ordered breakfast for us, the smell of which has my stomach grumbling. As if summoned, he appears at the door, coffee in hand.

“Morning, beautiful,” he says, bringing me a cup and placing it by the side of the bed. He drops a chaste kiss on my lips. “Did you sleep well?” he asks, his face filled with concern.

“I slept like someone who had multiple orgasms and needed to recharge,” I say honestly, earning myself a smile that melts my panties.

“Glad to hear it. I’d go for another round, but breakfast is getting cold, and we only have an hour before your mother turns up.”

His words register, and I squeak. “Why did you let me sleep so long?” I say, throwing the covers back and standing up. I’m naked as the day I was born. I love sleeping skin-to-skin with Caleb. His eyes darken in appreciation, and he takes a step towards me, but I hold up a hand.

“Oh, no, you don’t,” I say. “I need to get ready.”

Caleb holds his palms up in surrender and takes a step back. “Until later, my love. Grab a shower. Breakfast will be waiting.”

He leaves the room, ensuring he gives my body the once over with his eyes before he closes the door. I head to the bathroom to assess the damage.

I get in the shower and allow the evidence of our night to disappear down the drain. I wash my hair and wrap it in a towel before grabbing one of the fluffiest dressing gowns and encasing myself in it.

Caleb is sitting at the table, another feast spread out in front of him. He’s on his phone, typing frantically when I take a seat.

“Everything okay?” I ask, grabbing a croissant and taking a bite. Stifling the moan that threatens as it melts on my tongue.

He puts his phone down and smiles. “Just answering some of yesterday evening’s emails. I was distracted,” he says, waggling his eyebrows.

This man is a workaholic. He never has a moment off. He plays hard, but he works doubly hard. Anyone who says he hasn’t earned his wealth is deluding themselves. All the Frazer family have the strongest work ethic. Something that surprised me, especially being raised in such a wealthy environment.

“How are you feeling?” he asks, helping himself to the fruit platter.

“Equal parts excited and apprehensive,” I tell him honestly. “Last night, however, helped. You’re the best distraction.” I tell him. I move towards him and drop myself onto his lap, wrapping my arms around his neck. Loving the way his arms come around me and his eyes twinkle with delight. I want him to know I’m not oblivious to histhoughtfulness and needs, that I appreciate him more than words can say.

“I aim to be of service,” he says before offering me a strawberry.

I bite it off his fork, closing my eyes as the sweet taste explodes on my tongue.

We continue to feed each other morsels of food until I feel like I’m ready to explode. The food is too good to waste. I will need to dance extra hard this coming week, but then again, what the hell—you only live once, and this is a treat weekend.

I look at the time. Twenty minutes until my mother arrives. My stomach sinks, and the food I’ve just devoured threatens to reappear.

Caleb walks up behind me and wraps his arms around my waist, dropping a kiss on my shoulder.

“Stop thinking and start doing. Dry your hair, do your makeup, and get dressed. Baby steps, little dancer, baby steps.”

I rest my head back against his shoulder. “How do you always know?”

He presses a kiss into the side of my head. “I just do,” he says, pushing me forward towards the vanity unit. “Now get ready.”

I don’t want to think about what the girls said about how in-tune his parents were. It’s true he can read me, and I’m getting better at reading him. It’s how I know he’s not as cocky-confident as he makes out. Why I’ve taken to being honest with him. Well, as honest as I can be, but I’m learning. He’s helping me to see there is another way.

I shake myself off and do what I’m told, listening as Caleb starts up the shower.
