The scene in his office played out in my mind for the rest of the day. I just couldn’t help it, I was so drawn to him. It was like going against the grain to try and act indifferent. Like I was committing some great sin against the Gods themselves.
Every touch we shared felt stolen and forbidden. It was thrilling and exhilarating. Every connection was made amplified because I knew I wasn’t free to just throw my arms around him and kiss him. Wasn’t free to hold his hand, to reach out and brush his onyx black hair from his forehead.
“Are you even listening to us?” Sophia asked, jarring me from when his hand had shackled my wrist, the merging of my memories from all the times he had done that when holding me captive to the bed. It was no wonder I felt my cheeks getting red.
“She’s blushing,” Pip added, making me deny the truth.
“No, I’m not and, yes, I am listening. But like I said, there was no coin. Just a box that looked like it once held some,” I told her, as this was all I had seen in the secret draw before I had been forced to slam it shut.
“I was afraid of that,” Sophia sighed, slumping back into the chair, as we were currently in Pip’s room once more.
“I might know someone who has one,” Pip offered, making Sophia sit up straighter while I shot hopeful eyes to my friend.
“Who? Who would have one and not be loyal to my brother? Because if you are suggesting Lucius then…”
“What about the HellBeast King?” she interrupted, making me tense.
“Jared? But isn’t he loyal to Draven?” I asked, forgetting myself and what time I was in.
“I have no idea why it is you call your husband that, but no, he plays the game well enough. However, he is a king in his own right and as a rule, they tend to keep to their own kingdoms,” Sophia replied, as if this should have been obvious, making me mutter,
“Of course, the table of Kings hasn’t happened yet.”
“The table of Kings?” she asked.
“Believe it or not, in my future, all the Kings work as one. They formed an alliance after… well, after way too much stuff to tell you about but let’s just say it involved a shit load of kidnappings, bad guys, battles, and a few trips to Hell,” I told them, and whereas Sophia looked shocked, Pip just looked even more excited.
“Gods, but I can’t wait for the future, it sounds like so much fun!” Pip said, bouncing on the bed as if she couldn’t contain herself.
“Okay, but let’s get back on track to getting me to my own future… you really think Jared would help us?” I said, ending this in a hopeful question.
“Most likely not… not without something for him to gain,” Pip replied, tapping her lip as she thought more about it.
“Great, he is already rich, so not sure what we could offer him,” Sophia added, making me grin.
“What about information?” I asked.
“Information… on what?” Sophia got there first with this question, but I could see Pip opening her mouth to ask the same thing.
“His Chosen One,” I replied, making them both join me in grinning.
“That would do it!” Pip said with a slap to her knees before getting to her feet and walking to the desk.
“What are you going to do?” My question was answered with a wink before Pip replied,
“What we woman do best when dealing with men.”
“A blow job?” I asked, making her giggle her ass off and say,
“No, but I like the sound of whatever that is… no, I mean appealing to a man’s ego in the form of a letter…”
“It means sucking a man’s cock. And how will appealing to his ego work?” I informed her before getting back on track
“He’s a king, right? Well, if he knows he can aid the King of Kings’ Chosen One when the king cannot, then it should intrigue him enough to listen, adding then all the stuff about you having information about his own Chosen One will just be the icing on the cake… besides, Adam would tear the world apart if I was to suck another man’s cock, no matter how handsome that HellBeast is.”
I laughed at that.
“Okay, ladies, please try and stick to one conversation at a time. Pip, do you know what to say?” Sophia commented, clearly having a hard time focusing on our double talk.
