“I’m not going to have a chance to have breakfast with you, Nipples,” Booker says, looking at his phone. “Echo texted. We’ve got church in about ninety seconds so I’d better run”

He kisses me on the cheek and then does just that. I know I said to Booker that I would help if they asked and they haven’t asked, but I found out all the information on this guy they are after. Searching for him wasn’t difficult. Though seeing all the crimes he committed against his ex made me want to vomit.

Fuck, what should I do? The guys around here talk like they don’t realize there’s always somebody listening. I think me beingKenny’s son and a biker; they forget that I’m not actually a member of the club officially. So, they don’t bother to keep their voices down as well as they should.

Fuck it, I’m just gonna help you. Sounds like this woman’s life is at stake and that’s more important than whether I should or shouldn’t have stuck my nose in.

I grab the piece of paper from yesterday’s jeans, and I head on down to the room where they hold church.

I get a few curious looks, mainly from Stella, Reed, and Toni, but I just give them away and I hit on towards the door, give it a loud wrap with my knuckles

There’s a pause before Kenny shouts out to come in.

They all look at me curiously, especially Booker who is probably wondering what is so urgent because he was only with me five minutes ago. I give him a wink. He’s going to be finding out in about twenty seconds, anyway.

“I know you’re after Keith Urgart.” I met with stunned silence, but I carry on, “I know you didn’t ask for my help, but I wanted to give it anyway.”

I hand him the piece of paper.

“What’s this?” Kenny asks, as he opens it up.

“It’s the guy’s motel and room number. He also likes to go to a particular coffee cart every morning except Sundays.”

“Fucking hell Nicky, this is amazing. We’ve been after this guy for weeks.”

“I know, and I want you to know that you can always come to me if you need to find someone.”

Kenny looks around to the table before looking back to me. “The club brothers and I have been talking and we want to know if you want to become a Fallen Gargoyle officially?”

I look around the table and I see so many expectant faces. I turn to Booker and then Kenny.

“Yes. I’d be honored to become a Fallen Gargoyle... Dad.” Tears well in his eyes and I’m sad I made him cry again, but I’m glad that this time, it’s happy tears.

“You don’t know how happy that makes me,” he says, pulling me in for a hug. Pretty soon all the guys are up and we’re in one big, weird, group hug before they all disperse and it’s just me and Booker left.

“You’re going to be a Gargoyle.”

“I am. Are you ok with that?”

“Nicky, I’m so fucking happy I could kiss you.”

I brush my lips against his. “Meet me at your place in an hour,” I whisper against his lips.

I let them carry on with the rest of their meeting and head back out, knowing that soon I’ll be joining in with them, too.

I decide to head straight to Booker’s special spot a bit early and give Max a call.

He answers after the first ring.

“Is everything okay? Nicky?” He greets me.

“Everything’s perfect.” I take a deep breath. “I’m staying in Vigo Falls, I am becoming a member of the Fallen Gargoyles, and I’m in love with Booker, my stepbrother.”

“Nicky, I’m so happy for you. I can’t wait to come and visit you. Are you going to stay living in the clubhouse? Or are you going to get your own place with Booker?” he rambles excitedly, shocking me.

“You don’t have anything to say about the whole I mean a relationship with my step brother part?” he just scoffs. “Nicky, you forget how well I know you. He must be really amazing for you to not only have fallen in love with him, but also for you to want to start a relationship. You’ve never done that before, which means he’s special. I cannot wait to get to know him. Can Bron and I come visit you over New Years?”

“You can come visit me whenever you know that” I laugh.
