I walk her to her car with a hand on the small of her back. “Text me and let me know you made it safely?
“I will.”
“I’m kissing you goodbye. I don’t care about these germs. Any objections?” I trap her against her car.
“I’d be really sad if you didn’t.”
I close the gap between us and kiss her lips. It lingers for a moment then builds into more. Not more in a sexual sense, but more in an emotional sense.
I can feel her deep inside of me with this kiss.
But I can’t shake how similar this kiss feels to one we shared many years ago.
This feels like a kiss goodbye.
