“And now I’m under the sheets and you can’t see a thing,” I say, pulling the covers up over my chest.
“You’re so annoying,” she grumbles as she slides down into the bed and starts to punch her pillow, trying to get comfortable. I think that might be my face she is envisioning. She turns off the bedside light beside her and has her back facing me.
I do the same, and it plunges the room into darkness, the only light coming in is through the slice of curtain that has been pulled all the way shut. We lay in silence, except for the ticking of the clock that echoes around the room, the odd car driving down the road, weird ass bird sounds, the odd cow mooing, and her breathing. We lay there in silence and the tension is thick between us.
“Would this be a bad time to say if you needed me to finish what we started the other night …?”
Silence.
“Are you asleep?”
Nothing.
“Rosie, seriously, no one falls asleep that quickly.” I huff as I roll onto my side and stare at her back in the darkness.
“I don’t think it’s an appropriate time to talk about it,” she mumbles.
“Why?”
“Because we’re in the same bed. You’ve had ample time to talk about it before now.”
“True. We had come to a fragile truce and if we kept talking about you bossing me around in the bedroom I was prepared to pull over onto the side of the road and let you show me who was boss.”
“Daniel,” she says my name in warning.
“The thought of fucking you on the side of the road where anyone could catch us is kind of hot.”
“Are you an exhibitionist then?” She chuckles softly, thinking I’m joking. I’m not.
“Yes.”
Silence falls between us.
“There are things I like, Rosie, that I don’t share with everyone.”
“What does that mean?”
Guess it is easier to say this in the darkness. I don’t think I could handle seeing her disgust. It’s the reason I do what I like at The Paradise Club but it’s not the same, I’ve never taken a partner there before. Usually, I get my fix through other members or staff but it’s not the same as I have no connection with them.
“Don’t worry about it,” I say, suddenly panicked that I let my kink slip.
Rosie rolls over so we are facing one another. “Daniel,” she questions me as she reaches out and touches my arm softly, reassuringly through the darkness.
“I don’t want you to look at me differently, Rosie. It was hard enough to get you to look at me in the first place,” I confess.
That hand moves up and cups my cheek. “I’m not experienced enough to understand what you’re talking about, but if you like it then I want to know.”
I suck in a breath, she can’t be serious. “Rosie.”
She shimmies herself closer, but because it’s pitch black, I still can’t see her even though my eyes have adjusted to the darkness. All I can feel is her warm breath on my skin and her hand on my face.
“Please, Daniel, you can trust me.”
I swallow hard, this could change things between us, but it is a part of me. “I like having sex in public. The thrill of getting caught makes me hard. The first night we met at that party, and you dragged me into the bushes, and you let me fuck you right then and there where anyone could see us, hear us, was one of the hottest nights of my life.”
Rosie runs her fingers through my hair as I speak, as if reassuring me. “I’d never done something like that before, I’ve never been so bold.”
“I was addicted,” I confess to her.
