She looked up into his eyes and he glanced away nervously for a second beforemeeting her gaze again.

“I’d really like to explore what the future might hold for us. Would you like that?”

Her heart swelled and she smiled with glee. He wanted her too. Still feeling like jelly, she nodded before gathering herself to answer. “I would definitely like to continue seeing you like this. Between the two of them, they finalized the test and administered it to the undergraduate class a few days later. “Sounds like a winter wonderland,” she exclaimed, excited at the prospect of skiing and tubing on a mountain of snow.

“Once we arrive at my place in Vermont, I expect you to fold your clothes and leave them on the side table in the entryway. You’ll stay there with me for the weekend and longer if you like.”

“I look forward to it.”

“Good.”

Neither of them spoke much more as they finished grading the exams, but she was entirely comfortable in the easy silence. His commanding presence kept her calm and happy. She wouldn’t have changed a single moment.

When they were finished, he directed her to bend over his desk. She shivered at his command and sighed when he reached around her hips to unbutton her jeans.
