I shrug and let the tears keep falling, "When I first got here and didn't recognize the car, I thought about calling you, and I didn't. After all that shit with Leroy and Nick, I didn't want you to think I was scared and needing you to come check for monsters under my bed."

Grant grasps my chin between two of his fingers gently and brings my face up to his, "We don't think any less of you for being afraid of things, sweetheart. We're all scared of something. What is the point of having four husbands if you can't get at least one of us to check for monsters for you, huh?"

"T might run like a scaredy-cat, but we'll always be here to back him up and protect you," Lucas teases, bringing a smile to my face.

Mav slips back into the room, with three of the Lowe brothers quick on his heels. He glances at Lucas as he and Grant make room for him to squeeze between the two of them, "Called in the whole fucking arsenal, did you?"

Lucas shrugs and winks at me as he steps away towards his brothers.

I let the soft feel of Mav's fingers travel over the bump on my head while he works out whatever is running through his thoughts. Surprisingly enough, the first words out of his mouth aren't angry or directed towards Will, "How are you feeling, baby girl? You said your side hit the counter. Let me look at it."

Lifting the hem of my shirt has him skimming his fingers across a small bruise on the bottom of my rib cage. Both his face and voice go hard, "He's out of here. I told him not to bring that shit into my house, and he did. Not only is it disrespectful, but he put you in danger today. They can take his ass to juvi for all of the shits I give."

"You don't mean that," I say softly, running my hand up the side of his neck. "You're not cold and heartless like that. He stood up for me when that guy came at me and at least deserves to explain himself."

Instead of replying, he sinks into my embrace, and we hold each other until Teagan makes a grand entrance moments later, coming to a skidding halt into the room, "What in the literal hell is going on? My phone blew the fuck up, and I didn't see it till after practice, then no one wants to answer their fucking phones. Jesus, sweets. What happened to your head?"

He says the last bit, walking over to claim Lucas's old spot, "Don't tell me you slipped while mopping or something, because I think it's my turn for that, and I'd feel really bad."

Another laugh springs from my throat even as tears fill my eyes again. He leans down for a kiss, and the guys take over explaining the bullshit, so I don't have to again. His mouth drops open with a pop before closing again with a grim set to his lips, "So, should we go looking for Will then, maybe? We might be able to find him before the cops do."

Mav opens his mouth, but I cover it with my fingers, "Please?"

There's a quiet that settles on the room, waiting to see what he'll say. When he nods, Teagan presses a quick kiss against my lips. Lucas comes over to do the same before announcing he's riding with him. His brothers divide up parts of the town with them, saying he couldn't have gone far and head out with my men.

As Grant grabs a towel and wets it with warm water to start cleaning the rest of the drying blood from my face, the only thing I can do is hope they find Will before any more trouble finds him.
