If shit were to ever go south with the four of them, I will always be grateful for them picking up the pieces of me that were so broken I never thought I’d be whole again. As if my thoughts have conjured one of them, I hear a familiar voice outside the door. There’s no window, but I don’t need it to know that Lucas will be the first one to walk in. I tuck my phone in the inner pocket of my leather jacket as I watch the door.
Sure enough, Lucas’ blue eyes lock onto me as he squeezes inside and shuts the door behind him. His eyes crinkle around the edges as his face matches the smile on mine. I jump up and run to him, throwing my arms around his neck. With no hesitation, his own wrap around me before he lifts my feet from the floor. I slam my mouth down on his, probably with a little more force than necessary. I can’t help it, though. With the thoughts that were just running through my head, it reminds me just how much I truly fucking love the four of them.
My fingers run through his brown hair that seems to have gotten longer in the past few months we’ve been in college. He turns and presses my back against the wall behind the door, and I wrap my legs around his waist.
That smile that I love so much reaches his eyes again, “Damn. This makes fighting for the first shower so fucking worth it.”
I laugh, “You did not.” When his face shows nothing but seriousness, it pulls another chuckle from me, “I would have loved to have seen that one.”
“Yeah,” he starts, but then shakes his head, “No. That wouldn’t be a good idea. You in a room full of naked men. Maverick and Teagan would go to jail.”
He touches his nose to mine before pulling me back in for another kiss. Just as his lips touch mine, the door opens again. We are still against the wall behind it, so it slams into Lucas’ back. With the amount of force that’s behind it, I’m going to guess that it’s Teagan.
Instead, Goose’s head pops around the corner to spy us behind the door. Looks like I was wrong. I smile up at him from still within Lucas’ arms. He grins ear to ear as he leans around Lucas to land a hard kiss on my lips.
As much as I love football, this has to be my favorite part of the game. The adrenaline that they are all left with afterwards. Most college kids let it get them in trouble, but not my quad. More often than not, we spend that time wisely.
Both of their kisses are sweet, but even blindfolded, I could tell them apart. Lucas’ kisses are soft and sweet and makes you think of lying in a meadow on a warm summer day. Goose kisses like it’s the last chance he’ll ever get. You know that one moment when you’re watching figure skaters on ice, and the male partner throws the girl into the air, and everyone holds their breath waiting for her to fall? That’s what kissing Goose is like. Living in that one moment of wonder, hoping that there will always be another.
His soft lips curve into a smile before he’s even pulled away. I can’t help the one that breaks out over my face in return. Goddamn, I love these boys.
“Are we ready to go home?” he asks stepping away from us. When he’s far enough back, I’m able to see Teagan and Maverick over Lucas’ shoulder. The first couple of times that I found myself in this particular situation, I was afraid that there would be some jealousy between the four of them. Surprisingly enough, there hasn’t been any. Mav is the only one who has a calculating look resting on his face. That’s nothing out of the ordinary, though. No one would ever be able to guess what goes on in that head of his.
Lucas sets me on my feet, and Teagan pulls me into a hug, burying his nose into my hair. When I’m finally released, Teagan tucks me underneath his left arm, “Let’s go find some shit to get into tonight.”
I try not to look at him, because I can’t help the wince that passes my face. The only thing I want to do is head back to the house for some alone time with them, especially since they’re always gone during the week.
Lucas either feels the same or knows me well enough that he’s shaking his head no as he opens the door, “I’m not feeling it tonight, man. I just want to take our girl home, veg on the fucking couch, and watch some football.”
All he’s got to do is add the victory sex in there, and that sounds like a perfect plan to me. It’s weird how we’ve been together as a multiple person couple for months now, and it still gives me a thrill when one of them says ‘our girl’. Just how in the hell did I get lucky enough to have not only one amazing significant other, but four? It’s astounding, really.
Lucas and Goose lead us out of the small room as Mav and Teagan stick to my sides. For the most part, it’s calmed down, but there are still a lot of fans in the stadium. A dull roar can still be heard as we make our way down the corridor.
Teagan bumps my shoulder playfully, “So, did you watch me pummel that guy at the end?”
I roll my eyes and smirk, “You already know I did. Couldn’t have missed it even if I’d wanted to.”
“I don’t know,” Mav says from beside me, “Those guys beside you were distracting you pretty good.”
His quiet tone tells me he’s not kidding, but I’m pretty used to this jealous side of him. The one where he’s willing to share me with his best friends, but everyone else is off limits.
“What guys?” Goose asks, doing a complete one eighty in front of us.
Linking my fingers through Mav’s, I wait until his eyes find mine before saying, “They were just being nice. Besides, I unceremoniously shot them down, and filled them in on the fact that you four are not my brothers.”
Goose lets out a bark of laughter as he turns back around, and I hear Lucas do the same. Teagan snorts beside me, and when I glance back up at Mav, I see the smile he’s trying to hide. His shoulders sag a little in relief, like a weight has been lifted off of them. I guess that was the reason he was the last to come to me tonight.
Out of all of us, I know that he has the hardest time with our arrangement. Sometimes, I consider myself to be a stingy bitch because I refuse to choose one over the other, putting us in the position we are in. Maverick has accepted our relationship, but he’s also made it very clear that it’s the five of us and that’s it. Hence, the jealousy at those frat boys.
“They really thought we were your brothers?” Lucas asks, glancing at me from over his shoulder.
I smile at him and shrug, “I think it was more like blind hope.”
“Either way,” Teagan looks to Mav, “We may have to check into trading her seat, so they aren’t bothering her all season.”
Shaking my head, I try to keep from laughing, “I like where I’m sitting. Please don’t switch it.”
Teagan grins down at me, “Well, we’re at least going to have a little chat with your new buddies.”
