QT shrugs as he looks at him. “Do you want to b-be p-part of it? You don’t like cats and I understand that. But I c-can do this by my-myself.”

“No, that’s not true. I never ever said I don’t like cats, I just said Darius didn’t like them—that he didn’t like the smell and…” Zak looks QT in the eyes and taking a deep breath he places his hands on either side of his face. Kissing him passionately and smiles. “Christmas Eve—that’s when you wanted the weddin’, right? So if that’s what you want then let’s do it. Let's get married on Christmas Eve.” Zak suddenly drops to one knee in front of everyone and takes QT’s hand. “Marry me. Marry me on Christmas Eve and let’s bring up this cat together.”

There’s a loud chorus of gasps as the guys in the room stare in open-mouthed surprise watching the pair.

“Holy fuck, what the hell is happenin’ here?” Digby frowns. “Zak man, have you lost the damn plot? The pair of you don’t know the first thing about raising a pup—let alone a cat…kitten, whatever the hell it is.”

“I guess we don’t, but neither did you. This cat might not be our own child but I think it was meant to be. Maybe this is our callin’… our fate. Digby, I really want this and more importantly…” he turns and smiles at QT, “I want you. If you’ll have me? I was a damn fool and I know it but—”

“Y-yes! Yes, I want you. I want this.” QT beams in delight and as Zak gets to his feet QT’s aroma of excitement wafts under his nose. The smell is a mix of desire and heady male musk which readily turns him on and grabbing his lover’s cheeks in the palms of his hands Zak kisses him passionately.

QT moans in delight as the soft, warm taste of Zak’s mouth slides over his and as their tongues dance together in a kiss he can hear the larger wolf whisper against his ear, “I love you so much.” QT beams with pride and as he looks down and strokes his finger gently on the sleeping baby’s cheek, it sends a pulsing tingle of electricity through his body.

There’s a loud whooping cheer and the room fills with ecstatically delighted howls as the team continues their congratulations. QT’s cheeks flush with a rosy red blush as both he and Zak turn around and face the room together, the little baby cat swaddled safely in QT’s arms.

“So then I guess we’re gonna adopt the cat if that’s okay?” Zak grins.

Digby sighs with a smile. “Do we have any damn choice?”

“No.” Zak smiles his lips widen and turning around, he leads QT to the door.

“Oh wait…” Kat calls them back, “I have a box of baby stuff in storage you can have for the baby, if you'd like. It's just some things I bought for Evelyn but it’s not like she’s ever going to get to wear them, so you might as well have them now. There are all sorts of things that you might need for a little girl.” Kat takes a deep breath, feeling slightly envious of their happy moment as she wishes desperately she could hold her own baby girl like that.

“Thanks, that would be awesome.” Zak brushes a kiss on her cheek.

“She’s beautiful. A really beautiful little girl and you’re so incredibly lucky.” Kat drops her head and brushes the stray tear from her cheek. “I guess I should go take a shower. I’m still sweaty from my run. Oh Helena, would you be able to take the pups to nursery for me in the morning? I want to head out early and see if I can beat the personal best I set today.”

“Shall I come join you?” Digby smiles.

“In the shower? Yeah, sure, you can if you want.”

“Well, actually I meant on your run tomorrow?” he laughs. “We could go running together and make a day of it—go up the old mountain pass behind the commune. But as you mentioned it… I don’t mind joinin’ you in the shower, too. I could do with gettin’ cleaned up,” he grins.

“Okay, just give me five minutes, then come find me. Oh and has anyone seen Noah? I haven’t seen much of him all day.”

“Yeah, I think he was in the movie room. He said he would give Evelyn a bottle while he reads to the boys,” Oz smiles.

“Okay, thanks. I’ll catch up with him in a later… I need to shower first.”

“Well…” Digby takes a breath as he rests on the stool at the counter, “ today certainly didn’t turn out how I expected.”

Helena smiles as she strokes her hand in small circles on his back and brushes a kiss on his cheek. “I told you Mister Digby… love always finds its way.”

Digbyfrownsashewatches Kat standing in front of the bathroom mirror, studying herself. “Are you okay there?”

“Yeah, I’m fine.” She tilts her head to one side and stares into the glass, looking at him.

“If you’d rather I leave then… I meant, would you rather have some time alone?”

“No.” She takes a breath and turns slowly to face him. “No, stay. I’d like that.”

Digby quietly closes the door and stepping closer, he studies her. Brushing the loose blonde curls away from her cheek, he drops a tender kiss on her lips. “Are you gonna tell me what’s wrong?”

“Nothing.”

“Yeah, but see, I don’t believe that. I saw that look on your face just now downstairs in the kitchen.”

“Oh, I don’t know,” she shrugs. “But I'd say if I'm being honest, seeing Zak and QT so happy with that damn cat… baby… I felt a little envious. Oh, not about them and the cat, that’s great for them, but more for the fact I won’t ever get to hold Evelyn like that.”
