“Oh my God, will you stop? That was years ago. How we didn’t get caught, I will never know.” She bites hard against her lip. “Matthew, we really shouldn’t be doing this.”
“Why not? Who will know? They’re all at the party, or is it more that you’re scared of wolves?”
“No, but… Oh, what the hell, c’mon.”
There’s a loud squeal of laughter and the pair race each other up the stairs and eventually, they discover the heavy black gloss door of the gorgeously large, marble-tiled bathroom.
The room is filled with a romantic scent of vanilla and jasmine pot-pourri and they both tingle with excited nerves as the door quietly thuds shut.
Immediately it closes. Matthew can’t wait and pushing Alana against the thick wooden door frame, his fingers tease softly at the curls hanging loose around her face. Pressing his lips to hers and in a passionate embrace, they kiss. He hurriedly hitches her skirt up and tugs at the fine lace of her black panties and stares deep into the orange flame of amber eyes.
“Oh God, you make me so horny,” he growls.
Alana smiles and dances her fingers up his arm. Her soft touch tickles his bicep as he rubs his hand over and around the curve of her waist. “Just shut up and kiss me,” she snarls back.
Downstairs, there’s a loud slam of a door, and they both freeze where they are.
“Shit! What was that?” Alana frowns as they hear the sound of shouting.
“Oh fuck!” Matthew sniggers a muffled laugh.
“What the hell… Matt, this is not funny. How the hell do we get out of here now?”
“I guess we have to walk out. Like you said, we were just using the bathroom. C’mon we should go.”
As they stop at the top of the stairs, they can hear voices more clearly in the hallway below.
“Kat, do you know what a fucking stupid thing that was to do? You, running out in front of the car like that—I could have killed Luna.”
“It was the only way to get you to stop,” Kat growls as she stands naked in front of him. “Darius, please… just talk to me.”
“What do you want me to say?” He rubs his head, watching as Kat sniffs the air and looks to the top of the stairs.
“Fuck!Oh my God, Alana… Matthew… I uh…” Kat’s naked body glistens with sweat as she stands still and a blush of red fills her cheeks. “I should… I should go.”
“Shit!” Darius looks up, watching as the pair of shifters stare open-mouthed. He quickly unbuttons his shirt and, taking it off, hands it to Kat. Shirtless. His taut muscles flex as he positions himself in front of her and continues to stare upwards. “Who the fuck are you? And what the hell are you doing in my house? How did you get in?”
“Uh…” Matthew stutters as he studies Darius’s toned and tattooed flesh. “Uh… Riley, he uh… he’s my uh… I’m his…”
“Darius, that's Riley’s mom and dad.” Kat eventually finds her voice. “What are you doing here?” she frowns.
“Sorry…” Alana uses her hand to shield her face and fiddles nervously with her hair. “Riley wanted to show us the cottage, and he said it would be okay if we used the bathroom before we left. He said you wouldn’t mind but we can see you’re busy, so we’ll just go now.”
“Oh, okay,” Kat frowns, watching as the pair slowly descend the staircase.
“We’re sorry to have disturbed you.” Alana puts her head down with awkward embarrassment. “We’ll get out of your hair now.” Alana can’t help herself, and as she allows herself a glance upwards, her eyes are drawn to the muscles of Darius’ chest. She sighs and Matthew tightens his grip on her hand. “Again, we’re sorry.”
“Wait!” Darius frowns and he tilts his head, staring at her. “I know you?”
“Me?” Matthew frowns. “No. No, I don’t think so… maybe you saw me at the party, but I don’t think we were introduced?”
“No, not you—her. I do, know her.”
Alana looks up, her head shakes, and her eyes focus on staring at him. “No, I don’t think so. I can’t recall ever meeting you.”
“Darius… Riley’s mom is a psychiatrist, so I don’t think you would have met. Not unless it was when Riley was here after his attack? I think maybe you came to visit him, didn’t you? Maybe that’s when you met?”
“No, I swear I know you from…” Darius looks her up and down as she continues to stare focused on him. “Though actually, Kat may be right? I’m mistaken. It must have been when Riley was incapacitated. I’m confused. Forget I said anything, it’s my mistake. But you do look like a dancer I once used to know.”
