“Oh yeah, I can see that. Well, just forget her for a minute this thing with QT is kinda urgent. See, I gotta get this book back before Kat notices it’s missing. She kinda gets huffy if I touch her books—you know what she’s like—gets a little precious over me touchin’ the things in her office. So, do you know where he is or not?”

“A book? Wait, hold up, you have a book-book. A book about what? Diggs, what the hell’re you doin’ with one of Kat’s books? Ah—” He bites his lip, stifling a cry as QT taunts him with another playful lick of his cock. “Um, seriously Diggs. Can you take the damn book and get the fuck out? You know, I’m really… really busy right now. I’ll get QT to call you when he’s…finished. I mean when he’s back. I really gotta take care of this bothersome blond now.”

“Oh, so he is out? Well, do you know long he’ll be?”

“Uh yeah, yeah he… he might be quite a while.”

“So, I should call him again, see what time he’s comin’ back. Only I really need him right now.”

“Yeah… yeah you and me both.” Zak gasps as he looks down at QT’s begging amber eyes hovering over his needy dick. “Oh um… I meant so he can help with your book situation and I can get rid of you.”

There’s a sniggered laugh as QT can’t stifle his giggles and Zak quietly growls to silence him.

“What was that?” Digby looks around for the source of the sound.

“Nothin’. I heard nothin’. Look, could you just go… like right now?”

“Oh… Who is she?” Digby smiles as he sneaks a peek over the back of the couch. “A blondie, right? C’mon Zak, who have you got there? Is it someone I know? Oh no… No, not that Sammi again? But hey… is it not kinda strange for you to be doin’ this in the middle of the afternoon. Hell, you’re normally nappin’ at his time of day. Oh… Ooh!” Digby’s mouth drops open as he hears the vibrating sound of a phone. As he calls QT’s phone. He looks up and senses the sound is coming from the phone laid on the side table—next to a bottle of lubrication oil and an unopened packet of condoms. “Oh hell,” he laughs. “Oh, I’m so sorry, you two are gettin’ it on, right? Holy shit…. Wowser. So, is this QT’s first time? I mean, that is what you’re doin’, right?”

“Diggs will please just get the fuck out!”

“Um, no, no sorry. I really need QT’s help. It’s kinda urgent. QT get the hell up and next time answer your damn phone.”

“Oh geez…” Zak groans. “Digby, how fuckin’ urgent can it be? I mean, you can see what we’re doing here, right?”

“Yeah, and you can call it payback for all the times interrupted me. Now… QT put his damn dick down and get up!” Digby grins as QT’s curly-haired head slowly emerges from where he’s positioned in Zak’s lap.

They both groan loudly in frustration as Digby then squeezes his large body between them on the couch. Looking first at Zak then at QT, a huge smirk fills his face as he opens the large leather-bound book and spreads it across his lap. “Zak, go make yourself useful. Put some coffee on, cos this could take a while. The quicker we get done then the quicker you two get back to cherry-poppin,’” he smiles. “I can’t believe that you two are finally gettin’ it on. Hell, that might cheer Kat up when I tell her. Oh, and Zak… you might wanna put some clothes on. I don’t really wanna be lookin’ at that. Can’t say your dick does much for me.” He laughs, then slaps his hand playfully across Zak’s bare ass.

QT sighs and pulls the pillow from under him and covers his groin.

“I guess I’ll go make that coffee then,” Zak grumbles and curses as he picks up his shorts and pulls them on. “QT… I’m so sorry, this not how I planned it.”

QT shrugs and smiles at Zak. Then, as Digby smiles, QT tuts in annoyed disgust—his nose crinkles with a sneer of disapproving frustration.

“Hey… don’t look at me like that. This is not my fault. You should have let us know you didn’t wanna be disturbed. Anyway, enough about your sex life cos I need help. But first, you gotta swear you won’t say anythin’ to anyone about what I’m goin’ to tell ya. I mean it cos Kat will cut all our dicks off if you do. So, swear—pack bond, you won’t say anythin’.”

Zak looks at QT, then back at Digby. “Say anythin’ about what? Digby, what the hell are you up to? I mean what are you gettin’ QT involved in that will make Kat so mad if she finds out? And what’s with the fuckin’ book—you never read books.”

“Yeah, well, I borrowed it and I gotta put it back, so she doesn’t know.”

“And I said what the hell’s goin’ on. I’m not leavin’ this room until you tell me what you’re getting him mixed up in. If it’s somethin’ that’s gonna piss Kat off, then I’m not lettin’ him do it.”

“It won’t piss her off. Me borrowin’ the book might—you know how she gets about damn books. Look it’s um… Oh, could you just go make some damn coffee? Actually, I’ll have a beer if Bud’s got some? Now QT back to the book.”

He licks his fingers and turns the page to one he folded the corner on earlier, and QT sneers in horrified disapproval as he watches Digby toying with the page edges. Finally, it’s too much to watch, and he snatches the book from his hand and carefully smooths the page down.

Digby scowls, then sighs as he gestures to the page already open. “This chart, have you seen one before?”

“No,” QT shakes his head and frowns as he stares at the columns with patterns and symbols across the top.

“Right, well it’s called a mating-moon-calendar or somethin’ like that. Supposedly a wolf can work out about if they’re likely to get a girl or a boy pup depending on the moon phase when they conceive and their pack status: alpha, beta… yadda-yadda. You get me?”

“Uh-huh,” QT nods.

Listening, Zak leans over the back of the couch and looks at the page. “Wait… But I thought Rosie told you already that she was havin’ a girl? Didn’t she work it out and why your sudden interest?”

“Are you still here? I thought you were makin’ coffee.”
