“Hey bro, you okay?” Quinn asks, concerned as he and Oz help Riley to his feet.
“Yeah, I’m fine. Look, I don’t know what that was about, but it’s not what you think. She’s right we were just talking; you know, as friends.”
“Yeah, of course, you were, and I suppose you weren’t trying to get in her panties, right? I mean, that never even crossed your mind?” Digby sneers. “Oh, I saw you watchin’ her, that look on your face. You wanna fuck her so bad, right? Well, I’ll tell you this… you’ve got nothin’ to offer a woman like her. So do us all a favor and go back to where ever freaks like you come from.”
“I have nothing to offer her? Oh, but you and your bullshit attitude you have? Seriously? You know Kat’s an intelligent woman, I’ll let her make up her own mind what she wants to do.”
“But Kat’s not an intelligent woman. That’s the whole point… Well, she is. No, I… I didn’t mean that she’s not intelligent… I just meant… Oh hell! Anyway, that doesn’t matter. What matters is she’s mine. I claimed her so you can… go fuck yourself! Any thoughts you have about getting between the sheets and using your medical qualifications on her, forget it. She’s only interested in you for my benefit—to get my attention.”
“I don’t believe that.”
Digby turns to look at Kat, but she’s disappeared. They all turn around and again search the club for her. QT looks up from the book on his phone. “S-she we-went to the l-l-ladies’ room. K-Kat… you’re lookin’ for?”
“Yeah, thanks.” Digby sighs with relief.
“Man, you need to calm the hell down.” Zak takes a breath pulling his hand through his hair, then puffing his chest he smiles at the patiently waiting Anna—he’d forgotten she was there. “Sorry, babes. We had a little emergency we needed to sort out. I’ll be right with ya.”
“Oh, that’s okay baby….” she smiles, “… I’m good. I’ll just wait, or do you want me to go?”
“No, you’re fine. Take a seat. Hey QT, move the hell up and let the lady sit down.”
He does as Zak says, but as she squeezes between him and Bud, he makes a deep territorial growl of displeasure and moves as far away as he can. Then with a quick glare at Zak, he mutters something under his breath, that no one can understand before his eyes return to reading the book on his phone.
“Fuck!” Digby sighs as he straightens his shirt. “I need another drink. You know I think you were right; this wasn’t such a good idea bringing her here.”
Hudson cocks an eyebrow as he pours a large whiskey as Digby takes some time out at the bar, away from the group, to calm himself. As he sits thinking, images of Kat and her sexy dancing enter his head and he can suddenly feel the wanting throb of his cock in his pants. “C’mon Ryan,” he sighs, “get a fuckin’ grip. What the hell are you lettin’ her do to you?”
Chapter 5
Finishing up Kat dries her hands then with a deep breath and a swipe of her finger she tidies her smeared eyeliner.
“Oh, hell!” she sighs, staring in the mirror, her drunken face bright red from all the alcohol she’s consumed. “Kat, how many times… Liquor and you do not mix.”
Opening the door, she steps out from the peaceful sanctuary of the ladies’ room, and standing in the doorway she looks across the bar and smiles as she watches the guys—sat at the table, laughing, joking, and generally fooling around.
Looking up, her eyes are drawn to the dark doorway, the one Darius disappeared into and the one guarded by two large security. A black and gold velvet rope separates the darkness from the rest of the club, and Kat’s curiosity peaks. She needs to know what goes on behind that rope and sashaying her way across the club, she smiles sweetly as she attempts to pass.
“Hey, hey little lady wait right there.” the largest of the burly security stops her. " Sorry, but that’s a no go for you.”
“What…. But why? It’s part of the club and I want to go down there.”
“It’s a restricted membership area. Invitation only. Sorry.”
She tilts her head and cocks an eyebrow, watching as a tall blond guy just walks right past and enters. “Good evening.” They nod as he passes without a word.
“Well, um… my friend, he’s in there and he asked me to meet him.”
“That’s nice, but I have no guest names on the list tonight. So sorry.” He smiles watching as she sneers her nose contemplating what to try next. “I tell you what, you tell me who your friend is and I’ll check for ya. Just to be sure.”
“Oh um…” she coughs, hesitating for a moment. “Darius… Darius Jackson. Tall, large muscles… moody as fuck,” she laughs. Trying to put him at ease, she flits her eyelashes. “I mean, he’s not going to be happy if he finds out you wouldn’t let me see him. Actually, you know what it’s okay, I’ll just call him and tell him you’re delaying me.”
“W-Wait, hold up. Darius, you said? And he told you to meet him there? You’re…a… friend?”
“Yes, afriend.”
“A friend of Darius?” he frowns. “You’re sure, he asked you to meet in there?”
“Uh-huh. I mean, you wouldn’t want him to be upset, right?”
