“Girly? What the hell kinda bullshit is that? What you mean I don’t look girly, maybe I look like a boy? Ryan, are you trying to say I look like a man?”

“No! God no! No, of course not. I didn’t mean you look like a boy—or a man. No!” He smiles, stroking his fingers against her breast, cupping it in his hand, teasing her nipple through her bra top. “No, you mostcertainly don’t look like a boy. What I meant was…”

“Sexy?! You want me to look sexy?” she grins. “I guess camo doesn’t do it for you, huh?”

“Oh, don’t worry, you in camo… thatcertainlydoes it for me but uh—sexyis good too.”

“Okay, so now I know what you meant—challenge accepted. I will do sexy, clubby… not boy-ey. Yeah, I can see how this is going to be fun.” She bites her lip seductively, then pushes him away from her. “Maybe you could do sexy too… you know maybe a… crisp black shirt? Hmm… yeah that certainly does it for me.” She smiles, dropping a kiss. “Have a think about it. Now, I have to go.”

“Okay… Black shirt, right.” He frowns, nervously wondering if perhaps he shouldn’t have told her what to wear. “Okay, great. I’ll tell the guys and I’ll get some Ubers booked to pick us up. Oh…. and I’ll make those pancakes—maybe some waffles forbrunch, yeah?” He smiles.

“Well, that sounds perfect. You know I could get used to this having a man around—one who can cook, clean, andfucks the way you do. It’s great. I mean, all this home-cooked stuff when I’m used to living on takeout, what more could a girl want?” She grins. “But don’t forget, you need to work on that weight issue, so not too many. You don’t want Bud gettin’ the better of you.”

“Bud? Yeah, well we talked about that and you said you’re not gonna say anythin’ to him about that, right? You’ll keep that information between us?”

“I’ll see,” she says, finishing her juice, her eyes flashing a cheeky tease over the rim of the glass. “Though you know I can’t promise. I mean, if he asks, I can’t lie, I’ll have to tell him the truth now that I’mofficiallyon the team, right?” She laughs as she heads out the door.

“Mmm…” he growls, watching her leave. The round firmness of her butt squeezed into those small, tight shorts—it makes him hard just watching her.Oh…I am so gonna make you mine.

“Hey!” Zak smiles as he passes Kat on the path.

“Hey, sorry I have to go but I’ll catch you later.” She frowns, looking at what she assumes is a bottle of liquor wrapped in a brown paper bag in his hand. “Little early for that, right?”

“This? Oh uh… no, it’s nothin’. I mean, obviously, it’s notnothin’but… it’s for later. We’re not drinkin’ it now. Digby did tell you, we’re goin’ out tonight, right?”

“Yeah, yeah, he mentioned it. Clubbing? He said I should get something sexy to wear.”

“Mm-hm yeah… sounds good.” Zak frowns trying to erase images now filling his head.

“Okay, well, I need to go, I have to meet Oz and finish a report. I’ll see you later.”

“Hey,” he says as Digby comes to the doorway and they both watch as Kat jogs slowly down the sidewalk. “So, she’s back out runnin’ already? I didn’t think she’d be up on her feet yet, not after luggin’ your ass around. You know, I’d swear you’ve put on weight.” He smirks.

“Did she tell you that?” Digby frowns.

“No man, I’m just jokin’ with ya … Hey, lighten up.”

“Yeah sorry, man—sore point.” He smiles. “Yeah, she’s uh, she’s got a cramp so… she wanted to run it off.”

“Cramp?Okay, do I even wanna know about that?”

“No! Oh no… no, nothin’ like that, I mean she…we, haven’t… we haven’t fucked, not since we got back. She’s kinda put a block on me but I’m hopin’ tonight will change all that,” he says grinning.

“Yeah, she said you told her about tonight and that’s why I dropped by. I’ve got this. I figured that’s what you wanted to do, right?” He frowns, placing the bottle of expensive silver mescal from the brown paper bag on the worktop.

“Oh yeah!” Digby smiles as he bends down, staring at the contents of the bottle. “You so read my mind. I hope you picked the biggest sucker you could find?”

“Hell yeah!” Zak laughs, turning around. “So, you told her about this? The club… and theTequila-challenge?You are gonna make her do it, right? I mean, you’re not lettin’ her off the hook on this?”

“No! No—of course not. Though I think she’s gonna struggle, and she’s gonna hurl for sure.”

“Yeah, well I’m runnin’ a book on that. But no fun without pain and we’ve all done it, so if she wants to fit in then… let her.”

“Yeah, yeah, of course. It’s just…” he sighs. “ Zak, do you wonder if she’s right? That maybe we shouldn’t do all this… thiskinda thing. That it’s a bit‘behind the times.’Like it’s bullshit?”

“What? Why? Hell no—it’s team-bonding. A gettin’ to know ya. Just tell her it’s fun, and why would we wanna stop havin’ fun? Diggs, has she complained about somethin’?”
