“What, you don’t believe in it?” He frowns, almost hurt by her dismissive rejection. “C’mon Kat, you know there’s something there, something more—you can’t deny these feelings. I know you feel it, or what, you have a habit of sleeping with every guy the first time you meet?”
Unable to believe that he spoke to her like that she sneers, annoyed and furious at the harsh tone of his comment she doesn’t answer. She takes a moment. “You know what, there’s nothing there. You’re just reading way too much into this. We fucked, that’s it.” She sighs. “Now just go! You can come back and pick me up in a while, I’ll text when I’m done. I just need to be alone.”
“Kat…” He sighs. “I’m sorry.” He knows he’s hit a raw nerve, that he didn’t choose his words well, and he frowns. “You’re kiddin’ if you think I’m leavin’ you hear. Hell no!”
“I have a headache and I just want some peace. Ryan, I need to be on my own, I need to get my head together and work off some steam.”
“No, what you need is to trust me. Kat, c’mon… please, you don’t need to keep this a secret.”
“Secret? What secret?” She frowns apprehensively. “I don’t know what the hell you’re talking about.”
“Yeah, sure you do. It’s what you came here for, and I want to see. Hell, I need to see.”
“No!” she sighs, glancing up looking at him. “Ryan… I said, no!” Taking a breath, she hesitates as her throat fills with raw emotion. “This, this is not about trust, it’s something you can’t understand.” Biting her lip nervously, she glances up at him, “Please, just leave me alone.”
“No! You wanna do this, then fine, but you’re goin’ to have to show me—I’m not goin’ anywhere.” Folding his arms across his chest, he stands staring at her. The look in his blue eyes is filled with a fierce annoyance. He glares, watching as her green eyes focus back on him, and they continue in this knowing stare, not moving.
Then her heart rate slows, along with her breathing, and she sighs loudly. “Okay,” She nods, the words falling from her lips in a breathless surrender. “You’re right!”
It’s so peacefully quiet here. Nervously shaking, she looks around the forest. Timidly, acting almost shy, her trembling hand moves to the top button on her dress and slowly, she unfastens it. Sliding the short sleeves down her arms dropping it around her waist she stands looking at him.
Digby gasps, staring longingly at the body she now reveals, bra-less beneath the fabric. Her breasts heave in sync with her breathing—the slow and controlled rise and fall of her chest. She slips the dress from her waist, down her legs, dropping it to the ground. Stepping from it, she’s naked, and nervously blushing, she smiles at him.
“Oh, wow…” He smiles as his jaw falls open, a hard want straining against his pants. His inner-self growls, desperate to escape. “You’re so fuckin’ hot.”
As he steps forward to touch her, she takes a step backward, moving away.
“Are you sure you want to do this? We can’t take it back once we do it,” she says. Then, slowing her breathing, filling her lungs with clean air, she stops her anxious pacing, and concentrating her focus, she closes her eyes.
He nods apprehensively. Then, taking his jacket and shirt off, laying them both in the back of the pickup, he turns back to face her, and as he does the air forces from his lungs as he gasps. He’s shocked, as she stands in front of him—staring.
“Holy fuck!” He smiles, struggling to find the words to describe what he sees, and he swallows nervously. His throat’s dry and his heart’s pounding with a loud thud against the walls of his chest; it’s beating so hard it physically hurts. He stammers, trying to speak, confronted by her dazzling green eyes, now focused only inches from his face.
“Wow! … You’re fuckin’ beautiful!” he gasps. Slowly, reaching his hand forward, he grasps at her satin silk fur. It’s so soft to his touch, and like liquid silver, it slides easily between his fingers.
There’s a deep chilling snarl, and her lip curls, as her magnificent body pads closer. Focusing, she tilts her head, staring at him—and sniffs.
“Holy shit…” He takes a breath. “It’s okay, it’s me… Ryan. Everythin’s going to be okay!” He can see her watching, but it’s like she doesn’t understand. Standing there, it’s like she’s questioning who he is.
Careful to move slowly he drops his pants—pulling them off and then, in the warm afternoon sun, they face each other.
She growls as he changes. His jet-black silhouette is facing her and immediately it’s striking how much bigger she is than him. Both sniffing and panting, they take in breaths of the musky scent, which hangs around them like a fog in the air.
Then, before he can do anything, there’s a breeze, a rustle of undergrowth… and she’s gone.
He takes large puffs of breath. Rigid, he doesn’t move and watches as she disappears. It takes several seconds for him to take it all in. The air has a chill, and taking another deep breath, the clean air fills his nostrils—a mixture of lush valley freshness and her intense perfume lingers in his nose. A growl builds deep in his chest. He wants her, but he can’t have her because she’s gone—lost in the forest undergrowth.
Seeing her, the way she looked, the snarl on her lip, as she revealed herself to him. It takes some time for him to comprehend. There was a moment there—a short moment, that he felt real fear. It was clear, at first, that she didn’t recognize him.
He howls from deep inside his chest and the sound resonates loudly through the trees, as he scours the greenery, searching her out. Chesty growls fill his throat as he finds the path where she went. Then, sniffing the breeze, he captures her scent, and now there’s nowhere for her to hide. Disappearing into the forest, he searches after her.

Kat breaks free of the trees into a small open clearing and turning back into her human form she waits. Breathing heavily, she notices her chest heaving, panting desperately after running so fast. Then, resting, she lays down naked in the dewy wet grass and listens for Ryan. She can hear his frantic, breathless panting as he approaches.
“My god…” he curses. “You are so fuckin’ fast!” Doubling over, placing his hands on his thighs, he gasps to catch a breath.
“You remember that when we’re pounding the pavement.” She sniffs, filling her lungs with cool evening air.
