When I look at Callie, her chin falls at the mention of his name, and she’s chewing on her fingers. She looks like a blood-hungry vulture.
“And he hooked me up with the best falafel on the island.”
Then, we all watch as he serves up the light brown, grainy balls onto pita bread, slathers on the tzatziki sauce and then squeezes lemon juice on each one before presenting each dish to us.
“Thank you,” I say.
“Yes, thank you.”
I’ve never had falafel before, so I’m cautious—especially since I haven’t particularly liked any other meat alternative I’ve tried in the past. However, after a few chews, I find that it’s actually really good.
“Well?” Jack inquires.
“I like it!”
He smiles. “Good!”
After dinner, usgirls go back into our room, and we change.
Callie wears a short, aqua dress that she swears will bring out the blue hues in Leander’s eyes… a detail I have no idea how she picked up on during our short interaction with him earlier. Molly wears red and pops in her contact lenses before coating her mouth with rosy lipstick.
As for me, I picked a black number that, despite my declared intention, neither one of my friends allow me to safety pin the chest area up.
“God gave you those knockers, you might as well show them off,” Callie points out, which Molly, of course, agrees with.
“Wow!” Jack’s eyes fall exactly there when we meet them downstairs.
I go to cover myself, but he stops me. “You look hot.” His words make me feel a little better.
Callie comes with us in a taxi, and that leaves Molly and Bryant to get another. However, she assured me she was fine, otherwise I never would’ve allowed that situation to take place.
“I think they like each other,” Jack says, looking behind us as we pull away.
“Maybe.” I still haven’t gotten a good vibe on that yet.
“Hey! How come it was never in the plan for me to be set up with the captain?” Callie protests.
Jack lightly pushes her shoulder. “Well, you come up to his knee, so I’m not sure how that would logistically work out in bed.”
She sticks her tongue out and crosses her arms. “My head is at least up to his elbow, thank you very much.”
We all laugh.
As soon as we make it to the bustling club, Jack goes to order us drinks, and Callie picks out Leander from the crowd right away.
Instead of the smock he was wearing at the market, he has a black button-up on, and his hair is slicked back in a ponytail.
I watch on as he twirls her around, and they go deeper into the dance floor together.
“Here you go,” Jack says after handing me a blue cocktail.
“They call it ‘The Celebration,’ I thought it was fitting given the news we came out with today.”
“Aw.” With that, we clink our glasses together.
Then, Captain Bryant and Molly show up. Like the gentleman he is, he gets a drink for her.
After downing our first round, all four of us join Callie and Leander.
