“Welcome to Greece!” I say after releasing her. Then, I gesture behind me. “This is Jack.”

Her eyes go wide. “Jack? THE Jack?”

He beams. “I certainly hope so. It’s nice to finally meet you.” He shakes her hand.

But then Callie steps forward. “Hey I’m Callie.”

“Molly. Oh, my gosh. I love your Gucci slides!”

Callie smiles. “They’re knock offs.”

Molly’s mouth widens. “You’re kidding me. They look like Angelina GG Platforms to me.”

Callie’s lips roll in on themselves. “Nope. One hundred percent fake.”

“Oh my gosh! That’s crazy!”

Just as I thought, it seemed as though they were becoming quick friends.

“Jeez. They’re like magnets,” Jack comments as we walk out and behind them.

“Right?”

After we get into the car, Callie waits approximately five seconds before blurting out, “Do you want to go out with us tonight?”

Molly nods enthusiastically. “Of course!”

Callie claps in excitement. “You’re going to have to help me dress Kayla.”

My arms cover my chest. “Hey!”

Molly’s focus remains on Callie, and she flicks her wrist in her direction. “Do not even worry about that. I’ve been dressing Kayla like she was my one life-size Barbie for as long as I can remember.”

“I’m sure you’ll look beautiful,” Jack chimes in.

“Thank you.”At least someone is on MY side.

Later that night,we finally introduce Captain Bryant and Molly when Jack cooks for us, and all three of us go into their room to eat.

Molly has since put on some makeup, and she and Callie worked to doll me up as well. Although, we were all still in loungewear. It seemed foolish to dress up for the club this early.

“Molly, this is Wesley Bryant,” I introduce them to one another. It feels odd not calling him captain.

He bends down and takes her hand. “Very nice to meet you.” He’s wearing a mossy green polo and similarly colored shorts, a black ascot, a dark brown newsy hat, and matching boots. His facial hair is also groomed nicely, as usual.

“You, too.”

I don’t necessarily see any evidence of sparks between them, but that’s okay. Look at Jack and me, for instance. It took time for anything to heat up with us.

However, they seem to instinctively sit across from each other.

When Callie, who is also in on our plan to “set them up,” notices, she makes a face at me.

I nod without either of them seeing.

“What’s for dinner, Jack?” I ask.

“Well, I played your little friend Leander a visit.”
