Page 2 of Surprise Me

Jett lowered his mouth to her shoulder, ripped the fabric of her nightgown with his teeth and licked the soft flesh where the mark of the demon dragon writhed on her skin. A warm glow spread through his chest, a heat that he felt only when he was with her. Jett thrust into her tight body once more and bit down, sending them both into nirvana. Which was his favorite place to be with her.

They held each other for a long time, breathing hard and coming back to reality. That's when Yvaine started giggling. She laughed hard enough that her whole body shook and since Jett was still buried deep inside of her, he didn't mind her titters even a little bit. In fact, she was getting him hard all over again.

"What's so funny?" Her sweetness and light dug so far into his dark soul that even he couldn't help but smile.

It took her another second to get a hold of herself before she could speak. She smiled up at him and then ran a hand along his jaw. "How come you're so freaking good at that?"

He loved this time spent in her arms and didn't ever want it to end. Jett pulled up the dragon to shift just his wings and wrapped them around the two of them to block out the rays of the rising sun and the world just a little bit longer. "At what, love?"

One more giggle slipped out. "Making my eyes roll back in my head until I can see stars with my skin."

"You mean fucking you into oblivion?" That was a skill he enjoyed very, very much. "Say it, Yvaine. Tell me I fucked your brains out."

"You flookered my brains out." Yvaine wrinkled up her nose. "You flicker-flacked my brains out. You flagenshchoopered my brains out."

This was one of his all-time favorite games. One he had yet to win. "Close enough. I've worked up quite an appetite flagenschoopering you. Let me make you breakfast before you head off to the party."

Yvaine kissed him on the nose, dragged him to the kitchen and ended up making breakfast for them both. Jett was almost getting used to her vegan meat substitutes. She laid three strips of tofurkey bacon in front of him.

Nope. Kidding. Who knew dragons had a gag reflex? Those were still disgusting, and he'd settle for some black coffee until she was gone, and he could eat a couple of pounds of good German pork sausage.

While they ate, or rather Yvaine did, Jett messaged three Demon Dragon Warriors to accompany her on the quick flight. They were some of the best FNGs he had and were all ready to become lieutenants for him. As soon as Neo got back from his mission to help root out the demon wyrms in Dubai they'd start including these guys in the inner workings of the Wyr.

When they walked in Yvaine winked at them and offered them bacon. One reached for a slice, but Jett shook his head in warning. She popped it into her mouth and scooted behind Jett so they didn't see her naked ass. "Your loss, boys. I'll just run upstairs and change for this shindig. Does anyone know what one wears to a birthday party?"

They all shook their heads.

"Well, you're no help at all. I'll be back down in a jiffy or two." She kissed Jett on the cheek and stole his coffee as she left the room.

Jett poured more for himself and his warriors. He handed the brew out and leaned against the table. "Yvaine needs to go to the Gold Wyr headquarters. You three will accompany her through the shadow on her journey."

The Warriors nodded solemnly. Good. They understood the importance of their mission. Not only were they going to protect Yvaine, they were emissaries into another Wyr's territory. These three would be on their best behavior.

"I'm entrusting Yvaine's life in your hands, Warriors. Don't take your eyes off her for even a second," he said to the biggest of the three.

The Warrior set his cup down and crossed his arms. "We won't. We will give our lives for hers if needs be."

"Thank you, brother." Jett clasped the Warrior's arm. "And see if she can help you choose names while you're together."

Each of their eyes looked hopeful. They chorused a, "Yes, sir."

The moment they were away, Jett texted a half-dozen more warriors. This group were solid, but not quite up to the skill level of the ones he'd sent with Yvaine. Their fighting prowess wouldn't matter as much for the project he had for them. When they'd all gathered, looking stern and foreboding, he prepared them for their mission.

"Warriors, I have a very important task for you. It's one I wish I could do myself, but I have to meet with some government officials to try and procure our new home. You are some of the brightest minds in our Wyr and I trust you with the happiness of my mate."

The warriors stood up taller, alert, and ready for battle. They were going to need every bit of strength they had for this task.

"You six will investigate and research how to throw a birthday party for Yvaine. I need to fly over to the property I hope we'll call home soon and I'm counting on you to accomplish this task in my absence."

"What's a birthday?" the closest one asked.

My Super Sweet Birthday Disaster

Shit. Maybe this wasn't a good idea.

His Warriors did need to learn to live in the human world if their Wyr was going to be trusted to fight alongside the other Dragons Warriors. "This mission will not only be a favor to me and Yvaine, but a good way for you to learn to assimilate into the human world. If you don't know what a birthday is, I expect you to find out."

Not like he had a lot of answers for them anyway. Whatever they presented to him would be a learning experience for him too. "I'll be back tonight, you can give me your first findings then."
