“But I am bossy. Which you like.”
“Ah.” She scoffed, but a very pretty shade of pink flashed across her cheeks.
“I didn’t do anything to that necklace. I don’t even know where I got it.”
He searched her eyes, scented the air around her. How could she be telling the truth and lying at the same time? More of her magic.
Soon enough, he’d learn her ways. They were going to spend a lifetime finding out every nook and cranny of each other. He was especially looking forward to licking his way all around those nooks, and especially her cranny.
“Come on, witch of mine. Let’s get back before more demon dragons decide they want another taste of you.”
Ciara glanced around the empty square, a touch of fear in her eyes. “Didn’t you kill them all?”
“Yes, but it’s still dark, and more can rise from the shadows until the sun comes up and takes away their powers.”
Okay, he didn’t actually think any more demon dragons were showing up tonight. But he thoroughly enjoyed the way she bit her lip and grabbed onto his arm.
“Let me fly you back home. Then we’ll talk about your necklace, and your powers.” In bed.
“We’re also talking about why you kidnapped me, andabout… this.” She waved her fingers back and forth between them.
“The only talking about this I want to do with you is to find out all about your kinks.”
“Oh no. There is something else going on between us, more than the usual lust at first sight stuff. Not to mention whatever you did to my shoulder.”
The air in Jakob’s mouth and lungs went dry. A mountain of stones piled in his stomach. “Yes. There is.”
She didn’t know. Of course she didn’t. She wasn’t Dragonkind.
He’d marked her, claimed her, and she didn’t even know what it meant, didn’t even know what had happened.
Sex. That’s all it was to her.
Except she did know there was more to it, or she wouldn’t be pushing at him like this.
How did he explain the magic she’d become for him, a true mate, the one being in the universe who was made especially for him, and him for her?
Ciara yawned, and patted Jakob’s cheek. “Don’t drop me this time.”
Jakob was the one who felt like he’d been dropped. On his head. Or maybe his heart.
WHAT HAD SHE DONE?
Ciara let Jakob fly her back to his villa, because what else was she supposed to do?
A crazy white witch had taught her magic, black snake people had tried to eat her, and then Jakob had.
Eaten her, that is.
She blushed in places she didn’t even know she could, simply thinking about Jakob between her legs and inside her.
It had been…wow. Absolutely fucking amazeballs.
How was he still single with skills like that? Oh, God. Maybe he wasn’t.
Shit. She wasn’t. In the inferno of the moment, she’d forgotten all about Wes. Jakob’s kisses, and licks, and bites had obliterated Wes from her mind.
What had she done? The guilt of having cheated on him chomped on her core like a hungry hungry hippo.
