His lips turn up in a slow sexy smile. He fucking knows they are. He also knows there is no coming back from something like this. I’m addicted to him. I am well and truly fucked.
CHAPTER 24
KOBE
I wait for himat the back door of Queen of Hearts, standing with Leo as he has a smoke. A sleek black Cadillac Escalade pulls up, and Brandon thanks the driver before taking his luggage and heading toward us. His face lights up with excitement upon seeing us.
“Kobe. Leo.” He beams, clearly thrilled to be here.
“Brandon, brother, you made it!” I exclaim, slapping him on the back and pulling him in for a warm hug. Brandon and I have been best friends since we were six, and he’s one of the reasons we enjoy the lifestyle we do now.
Leo gives Brandon’s hand a firm shake. “Glad you could drop by and help us out.”
“How is the situation?” Brandon gets straight to the point.
“You need to ask this one.” Leo motions to me, hinting that I might have more information than I’ve let on. When Bella and I arrived back in the ballroom, Leo and Piper had already gone home, but Jett and Hazel both exchanged knowing looks. There’s no hiding it from any of them. And I couldn’t be happier that Brandon is here tonight to help us out.
“All we know is that Reader is gathering information to try and bring us all down. Your cousin is his little spy, and if she gets anything on us, we’re all in trouble. We need your help to convince her to choose the right side.”
“I thought that was your specialty.” Brandon chuckles.
I nod, agreeing. “I’ve been trying, but she’s not easy to crack,” I admit. Part of me thought she would have felt guilty by now and come clean with me. Especially after the earthshattering orgasm I gave her last night. Normally girls are so willing to share it all after you get ‘em off, but not this one. She couldn’t get out of there fast enough. She was like Cinderella running from the ball because the clock struck twelve. Except this time, it was the cock. I wasn’t even done with her yet, and Hazel was most upset that her little friend had taken off without saying goodbye. She accused me of scaring her off.
Leo raises an eyebrow. “Oh, Kobe’s done a good job at getting close to her, just not in any way that will help us get her off our case.”
Brandon looks surprised and concerned. “Bro, she’s my baby cousin.”
“Yeah, she’s not a baby anymore,” I say. I’m not going to bullshit him. I had no idea she was his relative when I started pursuing her, and it was too damn late to stop once I had started. That and I didn’t want to.
“When was the last time you saw her?” Leo asks him.
“From what I can remember, it was right before Dad went missing. I must have been about twelve. We spent the summer together.”
“The look on her face when she saw that photo of you, she was spooked for sure,” I add.
“I was thinking about that, and I don’t think it was because she saw me,” Brandon continues. “I’m not sure she would have been old enough to remember me at all. Her family lived in Australia, and I only spent that one summer with her. She would have been pretty young, seven or eight, I would say. I just remember her being little. Don’t you remember her? She tagged along with us everywhere.”
I try to recall, but my childhood memories before my dad got killed are all a blur. I can’t picture her at all or the summer she would have been here. “It was a long time ago. I’m sure she doesn’t either. I’m intrigued to see her reaction to you.” I smirk cheekily. Tonight is going to be all sorts of chaos, and if it all goes down the way I want, she will be one of us by the end of the night. If she doesn’t hate me and cause a scene of her own, that is.
Leo stubs his cigarette out on the wall, and we make our way through the back hall toward the main floor, passing the guards and taking the stairs up to the mezzanine. We head for the reserved table I booked for the night, table eight, right front and center of the bar. He asked Xavier to assign the table to Arabella tonight, hoping it will unsettle her and make her confess.
The three of us slide into the table where Jett is already waiting. He greets Brandon with a warm smile and a handshake.
“What’ll you have to drink?” I ask Brandon, already knowing the drink preferences of the rest of the table.
“Whatever you’re having,” he replies, distracted looking for her.
I quickly type in our order and send it off to the bar. As the others catch up on what Brandon’s been up to in New York, my attention shifts to the bar where Bella is working. She hasn’t noticed us yet, but the bar seems to be bustling with activity tonight, and it may take a moment for her to serve our table. That’s okay, I can wait for this. I have waited weeks, what’sanother few minutes. After tonight, the power between us will shift. Right now, she thinks she has something over me, but she’s about to realize we know everything. We also control everything in this town, including the cops.
She collects her tray and makes her way toward us, her lips turning up at the side into a sexy smile when she sees me. She looks stunning, almost making me feel bad for what I’m about to do to her. We had something hot going on, but this can’t wait. If she stays any longer here, she might find something real to use against us.
As she goes to place her tray down on the table, she sees Brandon. I notice the tray slipping from her hand and catch it, guiding it down to the table to avoid a mess. Her mouth hangs open as she looks from Brandon to me. She had to know this was coming; she knows we’re friends.
Bella stands in front of us, clearly stunned and speechless for a moment, her hands trembling. The atmosphere at the table grows tense as everyone senses the impending confrontation. Out of my periphery I can see Leo’s loving this shit, the smirk of satisfaction on his lips. He’s more sadistic than even me.
“Bella, this is Brandon, an old friend of ours,” I break the silence. “He decided to drop by tonight. Brandon, meet Bella, who works as one of our elite girls.” I grin slyly.
Brandon offers a friendly smile and a nod, though Bella’s reaction has clearly thrown him off. “Nice to meet you, Bella,” he offers.
