“Yeah, I am. I just need to find her,” I tell them.
“We’re gonna find that little girl if it’s the last thing I do, Remy,” Gunner tells me. I agree with him. If that’s the last thing I do in this life, I will find her and bring her back to her mom.
“It’s just fucked up. How do you take a child from its mother?”
“That’s a real piece of shit move. From what we can find on Brad, that’s exactly what he is. A piece of shit,” Hodge adds. Inod my head. I know we’ve found a few things about some of the businesses he runs, and it’s all shady as fuck.
“Heard that. I can deal with his ass, but I need her home first.”
“And she will be.”
Chapter 16
Tianna
The days seem to trickle by slower and slower. Being with Remy has calmed something inside me. It’s him. It’s always been him, and no matter how hard I tried to fight it, I lost.
“You look happy,” Kiki says as she walks over and passes me a drink.
“I am, and I’m not.”
“You miss her. I get that. But the guys are doing everything they can to get her back. I’m sure they’ll have her in no time.”
“I hope so. It’s so hard being without her,” I tell her. She nods her head just as all the guys stand and rush from the room. Kiki glances around, just as confused as I am. She tries to stop one of the guys to see what’s going on, but they ignore her and rush to the office.
“What the hell is happening?” she mutters under her breath.
“Must be important.”
“Must be.” We both sit back and watch as a few come out and make their way outside, but no one says a word to us.
We don’t move from our spots as we watch for a few more minutes when the guys start to filter out and out the front door.
“I’m going to ask Locke,” Kiki says and takes off across the room to him. I watch them talk before Remy comes out, his eyes finding mine. He motions for me to come to him and I do quickly.
“There’s some shit goin’ down. I need to go, but there will be a few guys hangin’ back.”
“What happened?”
“I can’t talk about it right now. Just wait for me, yeah?”
“I will. Be careful.” He leans down and presses his lips to mine before pulling away and heading out the door. Kiki kisses Locke as he does the same, and then she comes back over to me.
“I didn’t get much information,” she reports with a sigh.
“Me either.”
“So, do you have everything ready for Charlie?” Now, I look over at her.
“What do you mean?”
“They’re going to find her, Tianna, and she needs things. A bed, toys, clothes.”
“I haven’t even thought that far ahead,” I tell her.
“Well, let’s go grab the laptop and see what we can find. Most of that shit we can have here in a few days,” she says as she grabs my arm and drags me along with her. We walk down the hall and into her and Locke’s room, where she grabs her computer and drops onto the bed. I sit next to her as she pulls up everything.
“This is so cute,” she squeals as she looks at things.
