“Hold on before jumping down her throat.” Mick snaps before he softens for Clover, “Hi, little Omega. Did you have a nice shower with Griffin?” She nods her head, leaning in for a chaste kiss with our Beta.

And I like watching them a lot more than I should.

“Griffin is very good at washing hair. I think I’m going to become spoiled from the way he takes care of me. How you all take care of me. I like it.”

I’m going to spoil her.

I haven’t even looked at what she spent today with my Mama, but tomorrow I’m going to ask for a fashion show. I want to see everything that she bought.

“That was Bryce. He tried to force a bond with me.” She doesn’t babble like she usually does. It’s silent as she takes in a shaky breath, her lemony scent tart again, “Do you think Marcus was ever my friend?”

Oh, I hate the vulnerability in her voice. Hate the way she is questioning a friendship because of how he took advantage of her.

It’s obvious that she hasn’t had a lot of people that she has been able to count on. Time after time people keep proving to her that they aren’t going to be there. She gets so excited for her life and then people show her the dark side of it over and over.

Not us.

We may have started out wrong and didn’t realize what a gift she was when she arrived. Now, we know what fools we had been.

It’s time to-

“I told you we should have killed him.” Griffin complains, nuzzling and making her shirt rise up a little bit.

“And I said there were too many witnesses.” Vaughn retorts. “Do you want us to kill him? I’m sure we can do it without getting caught. What can we do to help the damage he inflicted, cherry girl?”

“Do you want a cat? I feel like a cat will make you feel better.” Griffin pipes up and her eyebrows shoot up.

We arenotgetting a cat.

I try to throw my leg over McKinley to kick Griffin, but the Beta catches my leg and stops me from kicking anyone.

A cat is something else to take care of and we don’t even have enough room here for us. We’re trying to get a new Omega to be comfortable as well as trying to court her to hopefully join our pack. There is also the fact that three members of this pack are trying to go pro. I’m already pro. There’s no time for a-

“I’m allowed to have a pet?” There is so much hope in her voice. So much joy swimming there. “I’ve always wanted to have a pet. Someone that would be my friend and that I could take care of and bond with. I can really get a pet?”

How am I supposed to say no to this?

“We can look at the animal rescue league tomorrow if you want.” Vaughn offers.

He’s the only other one with common sense. If I lost him to this then I have no help. There is no chance anyone is going to say no when her scent is flooding the room with that sweet Shirley Temple flavor.

She’s flooding the nest with happiness.

“I’m so excited for tomorrow.” She cuddles into everyone, her hand squeezing over mine as the discussions are all put on hold. Her need for an orgasm chased away by Griffin talking to her about getting a pet.

We can talk tomorrow about what courting will be like and if she is comfortable. Or if Griffin and Vaughn are going to end up committing a murder.

Oh fucking Jesus Christ, we’re getting a cat.

“We’re going to have two pussies in one house.” Griffin whispers in the dark once Clover has fallen asleep.

“Pst Pst Pst.” Teases Mick.

It’s all fun and games now, but who is going to be in charge of cleaning out the litter box? And why do I feel like it’s going to be me?
