He fed me bites of broccoli, eggs, and cheese, quiche and mini fruit tarts in between helping me drink from the bottle. My arms and hands still didn’t want to move or grasp anything.
“Sorry,” I said after the second time I failed to grab the bottle.
“No sorry.” He kissed my forehead. “I should have made you eat more and take more breaks.”
“Pretty sure that was my fault.” I grinned. They had tried to let me rest by tag teaming Julian. It didn’t go so well and soon I’djoined in. “The sight of the two of you tag teaming Julian is too much for me to bear.”
Luca purred, eating some food for himself.
Logan stirred, lifting his head up to survey the nest. He didn’t seem awake at all, but in the primal instincts of scanning for threats.
Logan ate, and we managed to rouse Julian enough to get him to eat and drink again.
Luca gave me some painkillers and rubbed my shoulders gently. I felt straight back to sleep at the pure relaxation of Luca working out the stiffness of my limbs.
I woke again, snuggled by Julian’s side. He was still baking hot, but the intensity of his scent had calmed down. Luca was breathing heavily on shoulder and Logan’s arm was thrown over Julian’s chest, breathing with his mouth open.
It was adorable.
Julian said he loved me. Warmth curled through me at the idea, the precious gift of his love. Of Luca’s love. I looked at Logan, knowing he loved me too.
I loved them so much it hurt. It sat behind my breastbone, a soft weight of pressure and understanding.
And they loved me back. My mind immediately tried to shut it down, to minimize it. But the look of pure love and devotion on Julian’s face as he thrust inside me over and over, gasping he loved me was irrefutable. He was too raw, too open. Like I was seeing straight into his soul.
Julian yawned and opened his eyes. He gave me a smile that was equal parts sleepy and sexy. “How you doing, babe?”
I smiled. I was still sore and stiff, but I could move my arms. “Wonderful. Do you want some water or—" I started to move, but he hooked his arm around my waist.
“Stay.”
“We need food.”
“In a bit.” Julian pulled me against him. “I’m more lucid and I promise we’ll eat before I ravish you again.”
I giggled, rubbing my cheek against his chest. I used my pointer finger to trace his dragon tattoo, loving the soft bump of his skin where the ink was laid.
He stroked his hands down my shoulders, and for a long time we cuddled.
“Did I freak you out?”
I glanced up at him, and he was frowning.
“I know I’m intense during my heat…” He bit his lip. “I know you need time and space, and I told you I loved you.”
I frowned.
“I do love you,” he said quickly. “I couldn’t lie about that even if I wanted but all the thoughts about letting you slowly get comfortable were far, far away.”
“I know.” I caressed his cheek. “It’s okay. I love you too.”
His face lit up and he grinned. “Iamlovable.”
I shifted up and stole a kiss. “You are. So lovable.”
“And the new breeding kink?” He gave me an innocent look. “I mean, I do want kids at some point but not right now.”
“That was really hot.” My face flushed. “But uhh, let’s take the kids thing slow?”
