I dozed off until Dante came back with Dr. Lim.

She smiled at me, touching me gently on my arm. “You’re doing great, Luna. We’re going to order some clear fluids. You can’t have anything heavier than that until we’re sure you don’t need a C-section.”

I made a face. I didn’t want to have major surgery to recuperate from, on top of recovering from birth. “How dilated am I?”

Dr. Lim moved my soft hospital gown to the side. “You’re four centimeters along.”

Quinn frowned. “It’s been ten hours already.”

“Poppy is taking her time.” Dr Lim patted my shoulder. “Just like her mother. You don’t have a fever, and your blood pressure looks fine. First time labors often take the longest.”

I grumbled. “I thought most omega labors take around ten hours.”

“That’s an average.” Dr. Lim touched my shoulder again. “We’ll get you some fluids and check you in an hour.”

“Quinn.” I breathed through another sharp pain, but the squatting position on a soft mattress was making the whole thing much less uncomfortable. “Tell me about your paper.”

“You want me to put you to sleep?” He chuckled, playing with my ponytail.

“I like hearing you talk.”

Quinn talked about his quantum physics work, but none of it made sense. His voice was soothing and gave me something to anchor myself.

A nurse brought in a tray of chicken broth, and red Jello.

“You rated the red Jello.” Halos smirked, pulling the tray over the bed. “V.I.P. indeed.”

“I had to pull a few strings but…” Dante paused, brushing his hands over his rumpled t-shirt. “Only the best for my omega.”

I laughed. The utter ridiculousness of the situation hit me, and I laughed until tears leaked from my eyes.

“Are you guys hungry?” I took a bite of Jello and sighed. Pure heaven. “Please eat.”

“We’re okay.” Colton grinned. “Just glad they’re giving you something.”

I pouted. “You guys have been here for hours like me, and you haven’t eaten anything. I haven’t even started pushing yet.”

“We’re okay.” Halos fluffed a pillow. “Seriously.”

I frowned. “Go get something from the cafeteria or I’m not eating.”

“Bossy.” Halos said with a smirk. “Fine, fine. But I’ll order it up. I’m not leaving you.”

Lucky we could just punch in some numbers through the phone, and have food brought up.

A nurse delivered…four trays, each with a sticker saying ‘clear fluids’, containing broth and Jello.

I arched an eyebrow. “Halos. You’re supposed to be the laid-back, gentle one. I expect this level of sass from Dante.”

Halos picked up my hand, brushing his thumb against our bondmark on my inner wrist. Pure love and comfort came from our bond. “I’m not eating real food if you can’t. It’s okay. we’re not gonna starve.”

I didn’t have the energy to argue. I ate chicken broth, and Jello. Maybe it was because I was hungry, but food had never tasted so delicious. Dante removed the serving tray, and I put my head down on the support cushion again. I tried to rest, but the contractions grew stronger and stronger.

My alphas took turns rubbing my back, talking to me about our plans, and my beta practiced magic tricks. I couldn’t imagine doing this without all of them.

Dr. Lim came and checked me a few more times. The push of the contractions grew worse, and even though Dr. Lim suggested I shift positions again, I couldn’t make myself move. My head started to spin.

“I don’t feel good,” I muttered.
