Poppy rolled over and my bladder pinched. “Both. Gotta pee again.”
I went to the bathroom as Quinn shouted pregnancy statistics about the amount of time a woman spent using the bathroom.
I changed and went back into the kitchen, the rich aroma of spaghetti sauce filling the kitchen. Quinn was dicing the garlic and onion, Colton had the bratwurst, and Halos was opening up cans of sauce. Dante appeared to be on dessert duty and was washing the rice.
They filled the small kitchen up with a sense of belonging that I had only ever got around my family before this. I couldn’t imagine life without them.
Poppy would come, and they would take care of me and the baby with the same precision and care.
“Let’s bond each other.”
All four men looked up at me with shocked expressions.
Colton’s face turned red. “Honey, we can wait.”
“There’s no rush,” Quinn said, almost slicing his finger, not paying attention to the knife. He wore a frilly blue apron over his mustard yellow colored sweater vest, and he’d never looked cuter.
“We know you love us.” Halos gestured at his sauce. “I wooed you with my amazing cooking skills.”
“How could you not?” Dante winked, and flames went straight to my core.
I took a deep breath, able to do so now that the storm had finally calmed inside me. “I was afraid of losing you. All of you.”
“We’re not going anywhere, love.” Dante stopped washing the rice, his brown forearms glistening.
“I mean…” I slid in between him and Halos. “I mean, like I lost my parents. My aunt and uncles.”
Quinn’s face fell. “Oh Luna.”
I shook my head. “I woke up in the morning and my oldest sister was crying her eyes out. Just like that, we were orphans.”
Halos and Dante enveloped me into a hug, and Colton and Quinn closed the other sides.
I inhaled their mingled scents. “It just felt like idiocy to try and plan that far into the future. How do I know we won’t have a big fight and split up?”
“Because I won’t let us,” Quinn said. “You only split up when you can’t figure out a way to compromise. We love you so much, there’s nothing we can’t get through.”
I let out a slow breath. It was scary to have everything I ever wanted, but I had to be brave enough to accept their love.
“I want to bond.” I looked up at them. “Let’s do it now.”
Halos laughed. “How about this? We get something to eat, and then give us a little bit of time.”
“For what?” I crossed my arms over my chest.
All four of them looked at my breasts. They were massive now that I was ready to pop.
“Don’t you want to bond me?”
“Of course.” Dante patted my back. “We’re going to make everything perfect for our omega. We can wait a few hours.”
My neck itched for their teeth, and I shivered. “Fine.”
We made dinner, and I sat on the couch, trying to give myself room. I hurried through my meal, watching as they stole glances between each other.
They were plotting something.
I gestured at them with a piece of garlic bread. “I don’t know how I feel about my pack ganging up on me.”
