“Pregnancy is going to make your hormones increase, so you should expect to have several periods where it feel like you’re going into heat.”

“Quinn, get naked while you tell me facts.” I raked my hands through Colton’s hair, sighing as he worked his way down my body. “So I’m not just horny? This is pregnancy stuff?”

Quinn smirked, pulling his shirt over his head. “You are horny. It’s just because your hormones have you in a state of heightened arousal.”

“I’m in a state of heightened arousal because I have two sexy men around me who haven’t touched me in months.” I grumbled.

“Didn’t want to presume.” Quinn pulled his pants off, and I was pleased to see he was mostly erect. I reached out for him, and he climbed onto the bed.

I pulled him into a kiss, my eyes prickling with tears. It had been too long since I’d felt them with me. Quinn crawled next to me, pulling away to kiss my neck.

“You’re perfect, Luna.” He licked across my collarbone. “I’m sorry we didn’t call.” He pressed his mouth against the upper swell of my breast.

“It’s okay.” I sighed. “I was scared too.”

Colton and Quinn took turns pleasuring me, and I lost myself in the two of them. For hours, we took turns relearning each other’s bodies, and I was in heaven.

Chapter21

Luna

“Are you ready?” Doctor Lim held the plastic wand of the ultrasound machine over my stomach.

I sucked in a breath and nodded.

When I told everyone my ultrasound was scheduled, my entire family wanted to come. I told them it would be too crowded, so Halos, Colton, and Quinn all came while my sisters and cousins waited for me at the lodge.

Halos and Colton were on either side of me, and Quinn stood next to the ultrasound technician, watching the machine like he would make sure the results were fine.

The tech squirted some goop onto my rounded belly. It was nice and warm despite what I had been expecting. There was a small machine on wheels next to the examination table, and I tried to take in deep breaths.

The second trimester was being much easier, thankfully. I had barely thrown up, and other than being incredibly hot and bothered all the time, I almost felt like myself. My body was swelling in weird places, but it was nothing I couldn’t handle.

My stomach got bigger by the day until the baby bump was visible. I never left the house without Halos, Colton, Quinn, or one of my family members. I was perfectly safe, but I didn’t enjoy the extra attention being pregnant gave me. People asked all sorts of questions about my pack and how long we had been trying to get pregnant, and it just made me feel sad.

I didn’t have a pack and we hadn’t been trying. One of the fathers wasn’t even around. We were the opposite of a successful pack, but I couldn’t ask for too much.

I pushed the thought out of my mind. I should forget Dante, no matter how hard it was, how badly it hurt not to have him here for these important moments.

Doctor Lim moved the wand over my belly, watching the screen with interest. Normally the obstetrician didn’t perform the ultrasounds, but since I was high risk Doctor Lim wanted to see everything herself.

The four of us leaned forward, as though getting a few inches closer would actually do anything. Dr. Lim moved the wand around a bit, and my bladder pinched uncomfortably. It was better with a full bladder, but the extra pressure didn’t feel awesome.

The screen was gray and grainy, with the whoosh-whoosh sound I’d heard on TV a dozen times. It was so much more real when it was me, my baby.

The gray splooshes moved across the screen until a shape came into view. I held my breath.

“There’s Baby.” Dr. Lim smiled.

All the air left the room, and I sucked in a breath. The doctor moved the wand over my belly, revealing curled buds and a fetal shape. It looked like a little alien, but still. My baby.

Tears pricked my eyes, and I blinked them back. Colton and Halos squeezed my hands, and Quinn squeezed my forearm, but we were all watching the screen.

“Baby looks healthy.” Dr. Lim moved the wand a bit.

“Oh, thank goodness,” I said, blinking tears away.

“See, the baby’s fine.” Halos grinned, relief on his face, and used his free hand to rub my back. “All those peanut butter and jelly toasts worked.”
