“Not at all.” He grinned. “They know who I am, anyway.”
We cuddled on the couch while I told Raina to round up the family for a quick meeting. It was going to involve food, of course. Our family get-togethers always did and Raina was usually the one to organize it, just like she organized most of the rest of the family business.

Luna
Dragging myself off the couch, I drove over to the resort. The lodge and welcome center were long wooden buildings with arched rooflines. There were large fields surrounding them, used for yoga, corporate retreats, and hiking. Surrounding the main buildings were several cottages and cabins where couples could rent private space.
We focused on matchmaking, but also did a hefty side business in packs and couples coming to reconnect.
Instead of meeting at anyone’s cottage, I’d opted for the big field near the lodge. It was blooming this time of year, a riot of purple, blue, and pinks flowers.
Terran, my beta cousin, was quietly talking about construction with his older brother, my other alpha cousin, Zephyr. Terran and Zephyr had both inherited the Sullivan family brown hair, while mine was darker.
Sunshine, my bubbly older sister had brought plates and napkins. The only blonde in the family, she lived up to her name by being happy and perky most of the time. We spread the feast out on the picnic table, and dug in.
“How’s your pack?” I looked at my sister, Stella. She was glowing and I hoped I wasn’t be the only one who’d be having a baby soon.
Stella flipped her brown hair off her shoulders. When I was a kid, I’d tried everything I could to get my hair that smooth. “Awesome. We’re getting Tony’s later, and having a little beach date.”
Stella was only recently bonded, and I’d never seen my sister happier. I wanted that for myself, but I was willing to take it one step at a time. I tried to smile but I could tell that I wasn’t doing a great job at it.
All six of my cousins and sisters looked at me.
“What’s wrong?” Sunshine tucked some hair out of my face. “You’ve been off for weeks. We don’t want to pry—”
“I want to pry.” Raina crossed her arms over her chest.
I sighed. “I’m pregnant.”
My family blinked at me. All of them wore stunned expressions and for a minute I savored the absolute silence.
“You and Halos haven’t…” Raina frowned.
I grit my teeth. It was going to be an annoying assumption from now on. “No. But he knows. When I was in Vegas…”
Ember whooped and jumped up and down, her red hair escaping its hasty bun. “Oh my gosh, you did have a wild weekend in Vegas!”
I grimaced. “Yes.”
Ember kept jumping up and down, squealing. “Oh, we’re gonna be aunties and uncles, yes.”
Zephyr frowned, like he hadn’t cleared this unexpected surprise with the universe. I knew how he felt. “You weren’t in heat…”
“It’s not impossible.” Raina huffed. “Just unlikely.”
“Ooooohh we need to do a tarot reading, stat.” Ember bounced over to her bag.
“We don’t have to,” I started. My nerves were jangled, but strangely, I wasn’t as upset as I thought I would be.
“Oh but we do,” Ember said.
“I’ve told the fathers,” I ploughed forward. “There’s an alpha-beta bonded pair, Colton and Quinn, coming into town tomorrow…”
“And the other one?” Sunshine frowned, handing me some water. “That sounds like there’s more than just the bonded pair.”
I shook my head. “I don’t want to talk about it.”
