The next time I woke up, Halos was already awake. The red and green hoodie were bunched around me, and he was gently stroking down my arm and back.

I let out a sigh and rolled over to look at him.

He kissed the tip of my nose. “Good morning again.”

“Morning.” I couldn’t see myself but it felt like I was glowing.

“You look like you’re feeling better.” He looked pleased with himself. “Do you want to steal some of my food or are you not hungry?”

I laughed and shoved his shoulder. “Not yet.”

Halos wrapped his arms around me, and we cuddled for a while. He purred softly and the sound was like the best relaxation soundtrack in the entire world.

Until my stomach started to rumble, and he patted my shoulder. “Time to make some food so my omega doesn’t starve.”

I grumbled. It was soft and warm and quiet in my nest.

“I can bring you food.” He kissed the top of my head. I loved how he kept touching me, petting me, like he was reassuring me and himself that we were both here, together.

“I’ll come,” I said. “I feel like I need to move around a bit.”

I slowly climbed out of the nest, grabbing the red hoodie and zipping it up. I was rewarded with a grin, and we went into the kitchen.

It was little bright, but lucky for me I had plants everywhere, so they softened up some of the sunlight.

I glanced at the calendar on the fridge. “I have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow.”

Halos looked up from pulling some eggs out of the fridge. “Can I come with you?”

“Do you want to?” I looked down at the sleeves. The hoodie was more like a dress on me, but I didn’t care. It was comfortable.

“I want to come to every appointment. Do every baby-related thing.” He pulled a pan out and began chopping vegetables, then paused to look at me. “I won’t be mad if you don’t want me to, of course.”

“I want you to,” I said finally. “I just feel like a burden.”

Halos put down a green pepper and walked over to me. He knelt down in front of me and looked up into my eyes. His black hair was mussed, but he looked so relaxed it was like he was a hero out of mythology. “Luna. I love you. I will be there whenever you want me to. You’re stuck with me.”

Tears prickled my eyes, and I pulled him against me. “I love you too.”

My heart felt like it was going to come out of my chest, and I couldn’t process my luck. It seemed too good to be true, that this alpha I wanted so badly would feel the same way about me.

Halos stroked my back. “It’s okay, love. It’s okay. We’ll figure it out.”

I let him go. “I do want you to come with me. To be a part of all this. And for gardening too.”

Halos laughed. “Always, love. Always.”

We spent the rest of the day cuddling and watching tv. And having sex. Now that I knew he wanted me, I couldn’t get enough of him. I was still aware of myself, unlike when I was in heat, but everything else was the same. I craved his body inside mine, his scent all over me.

I didn’t know if this was ‘normal’ for my sort of pregnancy, but I put off my worry for the doctor’s appointment.

Chapter14

Halos

Ididn’t love being at the doctors on a normal day, but with Luna it made every alpha instinct I had go haywire.

I was used to being a chill alpha. I hadn’t switched designations until I was almost eighteen, and I had an easier time controlling myself than most alphas.
