“Hey, hey.” Halos rubbed his hands up and down my arms. “Honey, what’s wrong.”

I shook my head. “I was just thinking: there’s something I need to tell you…I just…I like you so much and…”

Halos grinned. “Very good news because I’m crazy about you. I didn’t want to seem overbearing, inviting myself over all the time.”

“No, I…” I shook my head. “Halos, I’m pregnant.”

“But we haven’t...” Halos blinked. “You don’t smell bonded.”

“Because I’m not.” I held back my tears and barreled ahead. “It was when I went to Vegas.”

“Ohhhh.” Understanding lit on his face. “Oh, that’s why you came back smelling like other alphas. I thought that meant that I’d waited too long.”

I shook my head, and he pulled me against him. “Thank heavens. I was going to beg to be in the pack.”

“It was supposed to be a short fling.” I buried my face into his neck. “I didn’t get their numbers or anything.”

“Oh, baby.” He patted my back. “And now you’re pregnant and feel like you’re going to guilt them into being around you if you tell them.”

I nodded, tears starting to well in my eyes, threatening to fall.

“Those idiots are pining for you, I bet you any amount of money.” He squeezed me. “I can’t stop thinking about you and I haven’t even slept with you.”

Lust speared me at that thought, but I focused on the comfort he was offering.

“If they don’t want anything to do with you, that’s fine. Their loss.”

The tears finally rolled down my cheeks and I couldn’t stop it. I cried while Halos held me.

“It’s going to be okay.” Halos patted my back. “It’s alright. We’ll get it all figured out.”

“You really don’t care?” I sniffled. “I’m pregnant and it’s not your baby and I don’t know if they even want anything to do with me.”

“No.” Halos kissed my temple. “I want you, and if that means you’re going to have a baby that just means we can start the baby gardening early.”

I choked out a laugh. He grinned. “What? It’s the truth. I bet they sell little baby trowels, and we could have a spot in the garden just for the baby, so they could plant whatever they want to.”

I laughed again and threw my arms around him. “Thank you. Thank you. I couldn’t see the future, how it would work with a baby and you’re making it seem like a good thing.”

“It is.” Halos’s dimples showed and my stomach did a flip. “It will be fun. You’re stressed out now, but once you let the other guys know and they decide something, you’ll feel better.”

I looked at him. “Now that I know that I’m not crazy for wanting you. That you want me back.”

“Always.” His expression turned serious. “Luna, I’ve wanted you since I caught your scent for the first time. You have all of me.”

“Not here; not yet.” I slid off the couch. “I want you in my nest. Making it smell good.”

Luna

Itook his hand and led him back into the bedroom, and then into my nest. I tugged his hand, making him crawl onto the big oval shaped bed with me. He looked at the plants and nodded. “I like your nest.”

He picked up the green hoodie. “I see this has a place of honor.”

“It’s mine now.” I grinned at him. “You’re only getting it back to make it smell like you.”

“Of course.” He leaned forward and stole a kiss. “Should we make your nest smell like me now? Or did you want to watch something—”
