Valens moved with a slow steady rhythm. I didn't think I could be so close to an orgasm, but Valens was right, I was more than ready.

I pushed against his back, and he didn't slow down, his hands holding me in place. It was beautiful agony and I cried out as the orgasm shattered me.

I went limp. I tried to move my hips, but my legs weren't listening to me anymore. "Don't stop."

"Whatever you want." Valens laughed breathlessly. He bit my shoulder, not stopping the heavy onslaught of him pounding inside me. "You like this pace."

I cried out, my body tight like a bowstring. "There's no way."

The angle of him pushing inside me rubbed against exquisite parts inside me until he sent me into another orgasm. He grunted and came, and we collapsed onto our sides.

For a while, it was sweet darkness, the sweaty press of his arms around me.

My heartbeat slowed down and I could breathe again. I opened my eyes. I pulled a corner of the blanket over us, the cold sweat making me chilly.

Valens brushed some hair out of my face. "How are you?"

I curled up under his arm. He wrapped his arms around my waist and I sighed again. I fit perfectly and bliss bubbled inside me. "Great."

"You'd tell me if it's too fast?"

I nodded. "I would."

He kissed the top of my head. "Alright."

"I didn't push you too much?" I ran my hands over his chest. His scars were bumpy and ridged, and I liked how it felt under my fingertips.

"Push me?"

I cleared my throat. "I basically jumped on you and demanded sex."

"I've been having inappropriate thoughts about you since I picked you up." Valens looked amused. "You hardly took advantage of me."

"Inappropriate thoughts?" I trailed a fingertip over a scar.

"I'm supposed to take you to the Sanctuary safely. Not take advantage of you while your hormones are in flux."

I rubbed my cheek against his chest. "Good thing I'm not in heat. No worries about my hormones."

Valens ran his hand down my back. "Still. If you hadn't been very clear about what you wanted I would never have risked making you feel unsafe."

"Thank you." I stretched up and kissed his mouth. "I know you wouldn't do anything to hurt me."

"Never."

He looked so intense, my heart wobbled.

I stroked my hand over his cheek, slowly. I knew he wasn't mine forever, but I wanted to soak up every moment I had with him.

"You look sad." He frowned. "Did I say something?"

"No." I smiled. "I was thinking we were leaving tomorrow."

"If you're worried about the soldiers, Hashir will dig up anything there is to know."

I snuggled against him. "Okay."

I was more worried about when I reached the Sanctuary.
