Jace pressed his erection into her butt, and she shuddered. Warmth curled through her, and she wondered how quickly the three of them could get undressed. “I’m more interested in knowing if you’ll bear with me tonight.”
“What do you mean?”
Jace licked her neck. “I want you, so badly, but with the molting so close I might be too rough.”
She shivered, and pressed back into him. “That doesn’t sound like a problem.”
“Or stop completely. I don’t know. I’ve been a mess.”
Mia turned around to face him. “That’s okay.”
Jace looked hopeful. “I want our first time together to be perfect. But I can’t stand not having you.”
“It will be perfect.” Miss brushed her lips against his. “Because we will be together.”
Jace kissed her. He pulled her against him and Mia was lost against his lips, warmth and magic warring inside her.
She pulled away, remembering she had to finish telling him the good news. “Hang on a second.” She looked at Smoke, who had closed the distance between them. “These are Marvelouso’s paintings.”
Jace looked at the paintings. “They’re hideous.”
“The enchanter said he dated it and it’s probably his earliest work.”
Jace went pale. He looked at Smoke, and then back to her. Smoke was completely still, and in that moment there was no passing as a human for him.
“His earliest works?”
“Yup.” Mia pushed Jace until she forced him to sit down. His skin was gray and looked like he was going to pass out. Smoke brought him some water.
“But that means…”
“They’re priceless. You could ask Marvelouso to be bro-buddies if you wanted,” Mia said, giddiness rising up again. “You’re a lucky dragon.”
Jace threw his head back and laughed. Mia couldn’t help but laugh too, and before she knew it, she was laughing until tears were rolling down her eyes.
Mia pointed at the paintings. “They’re dirty and ugly and worth more than the entire city of Las Vegas.”
Jace shook his head. “This is…”
Smoke actually smiled. “The molting is proving useful.”
“Right? At least all this stupid sensitivity is worth something." Jace grinned and dragged Mia into his lap. “We’re going to celebrate.”
Mia giggled. “Just don’t forget the enchanter, okay?”
“Fuck no.” Jace kissed her neck. “I’m going to buy that guy a house or something. Send all the dragons to him for business.”
Mia rolled her hips over his. Her skin was tight and hot again. They had just had the hottest night of her life two days ago, but she wanted more. Craved more.
Mia braced herself against Jace’s chest and straddled his waist. “Jace.”
“Oh Mia,” Jace grabbed her hips, thrusting up into her. “You feel so good.”
“Yes.” Mia started unbuttoning his shirt. “You tell me if we need to stop or slow down, but I’m game to do whatever you need.”
Jace leaned back, and Mia marveled at his beauty. His eyes were alit with desire and his erection strained through his pants.
Mia looked at Smoke. “You hold him down.”
