“Someone should move him,” I say, putting off Cash’s request as I stare at the unconscious man. “He could roll over and drown.”

We’re sitting on a big comfy chair on the huge patio, my arm around his shoulders, my legs resting on his. He takes my legs and moves them and then gets up. I smile as I watch him walk over to the man.

Cash is taller than me with a lean, muscular body. I love it. He’s not all big and bulky like a professional body builder. He’s just perfect as far as I’m concerned.

He leans down, grabs the guy, and then rocks back using his momentum to lift the guy up. He throws him over his shoulder and carries him to a lounge chair in the shade. I grin as I watch him put the guy down, turning him on his side so he doesn’t choke if he’s sick.

“Thank you,” I say when he returns.

He sits down beside me and kisses my temple. It’s such a sweet, loving gesture and even though this night has been full of nice, romantic moments, this one is my favorite. It makes me feel all tingly inside.

“Come home with me,” he repeats.

I want to. I do. But I have an interview at one. My mother is going to be there and my manager Karen too. I don’t want them thinking I shacked up with anyone, even though they’d both totally understand if I blew off the interview to shack up with Cash Edwards.

“I should go back with my friends,” I say, even though they’re nowhere in sight. Sasha is with Graham, and Rachel finally got up the nerve to talk to Tristan Rowe and I think she left with him. I have no idea where Clyde is. I’m sure Clyde doesn’t even know where Clyde is.

“When can I see you again?” he asks with urgency in his tone. “I can’t wait another three days.”

I smile as I touch his face and kiss his lips.Cash Edwards’ lips.TheCash Edwards. I still can’t get over that.

“Ineedyou,” he says with a sexy moan.

It makes me realize how much I need him too.

“Tonight,” I say and he perks up like a dog who just got offered a bone. I laugh.

“I’ll come over to your place,” I say. The interview is in Houston, so I’ll be in the neighborhood. “We can practice that song.”

He grins as his grip tightens on my hip. “It’s a date.”

I lick my lips and kiss him again. “I can’t wait.”

CHAPTER SEVEN

Lola

“Wow,” I whisper when my driver pulls up to Cash’s house. It’s crazy. Like a Texas castle sitting on the most gorgeous ranch I’ve ever seen.

I wonder if I’ll have a place like this one day. And then I start blushing, wondering if I’ll be living in thisexact placeone day.

If things go right, I might be…

“Want me to wait around?” the chatty driver Vince asks as he opens the door for me. Cash sent a luxury car service to pick me up since I still don’t have my license. “How long are you going to be staying?”

My heart pounds as I think about it. Hopefully, I’ll be eating breakfast here, but I don’t tell him that.

“I’ll be fine, Vince,” I say, handing him a one hundred dollar tip as I step out of the car. “Thanks for the ride.”

“Oh, wow, thanks!” he says, grinning as I walk up the majestic steps to the huge double doors.

One of them opens and Cash steps out, looking hot as hell in a black collared shirt, dark jeans, a black cowboy hat, and bare feet. Those eyes… God, they have such a strong effect on me. I get warm shivers all over.

“Hello,” I say, stepping up to him. I’m not sure how to greet him, but he takes the awkwardness out of it by wrapping his arm around my waist, pulling me close, and kissing me until my whole body melts. God, I’ve missed these lips…

“You’re Cash Edwards!” my driver says, staring up at him with his mouth hanging open. “No way!”

Cash forces out a quick smile then turns away from him, trying to usher me inside.
