Nick walks into the living room, cutting him off before he can finish. “Do you think I need to clean under the couches too? Like I doubt anyone will look under there, but if this is some type of boyfriend test, do you think Amber will peek her head under there?”

I step back from Jensen, turning to look at Nick. “You’re ridiculous. She’s not going to search under your couch.”

“Yeah, man. He’s right. The place looks good enough as is. You’re fine.”

Nick releases an audible breath, nodding his head. “Okay, good. Good. Thank you all for helping. You guys can head out and I’ll finish up. Told everyone to come around 8.”

Jensen nods his head and then looks at me before heading toward the front door. I so badly want to know what he was going to say, but I can’t chase off after him without raising suspension from Nick.

“All right, Declan and I will be back later.”

Maybe tonight I’ll get a chance to talk to Jensen and hopefully find out what he was trying to say.
