“I had lunch with him and Declan a few days ago. He brought up dating someone new and when I started to question it, he immediately shut it down. Wouldn’t even tell me the guy’s name. Isn’t that fishy as hell?”

“No,” I say, regretting that I said anything at all when he stares at me.

“You know his past. The jerks he’s dated before. Why wouldn’t I assume this is another one of them?”

“You know what they say when you assume,” I sing-song, laughing when he glares at me. “I’m just saying, Nick, maybe it’s new, and he doesn’t want to jinx it. Or maybe he’s scared you’re going to run the guy off.”

“Pfft. I wouldn’t do that.” I raise my eyebrow at him, and he scoffs. “At least not on purpose,” he mutters, his eyes casting away from me.

“Lennox obviously has a good reason he refuses to say anything.”

He rolls his eyes, gulping down his beer. “Whose side are you on?”

“Honestly? Lennox. You know your brother. He’s a smart man, and yeah, he might have had some shitty boyfriends, but they obviously didn’t last long. And you know as soon as he’s serious about someone, he goes to you to seek your approval. So maybe he isn’t that committed yet.”

As soon as the words leave my mouth, my chest hurts. That’s exactly how it always is. Nick will come to tell me he’s heard Lennox has a new man, and then a few weeks later he’ll get the introduction. But Lennox has had a boyfriend for almost a month—me—so I can only hope he’ll want to tell him about us soon. Because I really don’t know how much longer I can keep this from him. I’ve never kept a secret from Nick before. He’s always been the one person I ran to for anything.

Being with Lennox in private feels like it’s shameful; like I’m trying to hide something, and I don’t want to do that. I don’t want to cower in a corner with Lennox and pretend as though nothing is happening between us. But the first step is to convince Lennox to spill the beans.

“You know what? That’s damn true. I’m sure he’ll give me more information in a few weeks. I’m just always worried about him.”

“He’s a grown man. Maybe you can loosen the reins a little.”

“I probably should. And I will. Once he’s with someone who’s worthy of him.”

“Sounds fair.”

The game comes back onto the TV screen and Nick’s distracted once again. I grab my phone from the crease in the cushion, flipping it around in my hand.

Jensen:Question number 14?

Jensen:Want to go for a ride with me?

Lennox: Well, that was a waste of a question. Of course I would. Let me know when to come by.

Jensen:See you soon.

The bike vibrates under us as I guide us around the city. At first, I took us downtown, slowly driving through all the lit-up buildings, before making my way back toward the highway. Now I’m on my way over the bridge toward Coronado. Coronado is a city outside San Diego, but I love taking the overpass to get across. I can tell the moment he realizes we’re about to hit the bridge because his arms on my waist tighten and he grips onto my jacket forcefully. The bike dips as we approach the crossing and Lennox whoops loudly over the sound of the bike.

We ride over the bridge, my sights focused on the road, but from time to time I’ll look out over the edge. It’s beautiful seeing it this way at night; the ocean water is dark, but the lights from both Coronado and San Diego illuminate the entire area. Coronado is another hidden gem I love coming to. While most people hang out in San Diego, I’ll find myself going over here. It’s far enough away that it feels like I’m getting out of town, but in reality, it’s not far at all.

After exiting the bridge, I continue riding down the streets until I end up at this small Mexican restaurant. I pull into the parking lot, balancing the bike while Lennox climbs off. He pulls the helmet off his face, offering me a huge smile.

“Holy shit!” he yells, brushing his sweat-slicked hair off his forehead. “That was amazing! Did you see how lit up everything was when we were on the bridge? Damn, that was scary, butexhilarating at the same time. I already can’t wait till we go back.”

“I remember my first time riding over that bridge. My hands were shaking so damn bad I thought I would run into the side.” I chuckle, thinking back to when I first got my bike. Cruising out on the streets was easy, but taking the bridge? Scared the shit out of me. “I’ve come a long way since then, and you’ll get used to it, too. We just gotta make sure you keep riding on the bike.”

“Oh, I won’t stop. The wind in my face, the feeling of my body pressed tightly against yours.” He smirks, stepping closer to me. “The feel of the vibrations and how turned on I am getting firsthand experience of you handling your motorcycle.”

“Fucking hell, Lennox,” I groan, my hand pushing down on my rapidly growing cock. “You can’t say shit like that to me when we’re not at home. And especially not when we’re not planning to be home for a while.”

Lennox laughs, tossing his head back and exposing his throat. Fuck, I want to bite and nibble on that neck, mark him, and claim him as mine.

“I guess we better hurry and eat, then. I might have packed that outfit from earlier. The one I sent in the photo in case you forgot.” He winks at me before he starts walking to the entrance. “Maybe that will make you rush and take me home.”

“Dammit, Lennox.”

I jump off my bike, following behind him into the restaurant. By the time I make it inside, he’s already talking to the hostess, asking for a table for two. He whispers something to her, and she laughs, playfully hitting his arm. Even though I know he’s gay and he’s not into women, that doesn’t stop the jealousy from flooding my veins and taking over. All I want to do is walk up to him, grab him around the waist, pulling him to me. I would slide my tongue into his mouth, making sure everyone in the vicinity knows he’s mine.
