Page 11 of Lustful Nights

A few hours later,I’m back at Nick’s place, fashionably late as always. I might have spent way more time picking out what I wanted to wear than normal. I still don’t know what’s been going on with me lately, but something has changed since running into Lennox. My head is spinning, and whenever I think of him, a knot in my stomach forms, and my heart beats faster. Now throw in my dick getting hard each time he flashes in my mind, and I know I need to talk to him. Hell, I tried to talk to him earlier, and I would have if Nick hadn’t interrupted our conversation.

I walk into the house, smiling when I hear talking and laughter filtering in from all throughout the space. As we’ve gotten older, the parties have died down a lot, but we still love to throw the occasional get-together and hang out with our friends. Even if our friends’ list has dwindled down, too. But I’m not too sad about that; I’d rather have a small list of great friends than a long one of acquaintances.

With quick steps, I head straight for the kitchen, eager to grab a drink from the fridge. I pass Nick and Amber standing in the doorway, so I tap his shoulder, not wanting to bug him while he’s flirting. After grabbing an ice-cold beer, I spin in acircle, taking in the scene in front of me. It’s definitely not a party like when we were younger, but there are people doing a little of everything. Some are in the corner snacking on the assortment of food Nick sat out, while there’s a game of beer pong happening over in the dining room. Lennox and Declan are located next to the speaker, and I watch as Lennox tosses his head back, laughing at something Declan whispered to him.

Fucking hell, there it is again. The subtle flutter in my stomach that appears whenever I see or think about Lennox. I tilt the cup in my hand, taking a small sip while I stare at him. As if sensing my gaze, he turns his face and locks eyes with me, his widening before he quickly turns back to Declan. Declan whips his head in my attention, smirking when he catches me looking at them. I watch as Lennox grabs hold of Declan’s arm as he tries to walk away. They’re both whispering something to one another and Declan must win because Lennox releases him and puts his hands up in surrender.

Declan walks over to me, stopping once he gets close. Declan is taller than Lennox and leaner, with sapphire eyes that match his signature blue hair. I don’t have a close relationship with him, but I’ve known him for the past few years, thanks to Lennox.

He turns his head left and right dramatically before stepping closer into my space. “I heard you were coming into Peaches a few nights last week.”

“Oh, did you?” My eyes dart to Lennox, who’s staring at us with an expression I can’t read. He looks fantastic tonight; he’s wearing these tight blue jeans with a light green top. His hand keeps flying through his hair, messing up his perfectly styled hairdo.

“Yep. The real question is why are you constantly going to Peaches? Hmm?”

“I went for my boss’s bachelor party. Saw Lennox was working there and worried about him.”

“That’s it?”

“That’s it,” I reply, looking toward Lennox again. He’s pretending not to watch us, but every couple of seconds, his gaze will tick in our direction.

“Are you sure it’s not about the man you can’t keep staring at?”

Well, shit. That gets my attention. “What?”

Declan rolls his eyes and clicks his tongue, looking back at Lennox. “You’ve been staring at Lennox all damn day. You’ve been glued to him since we got here this morning. But please…” He reaches out and grabs onto my arm. “He’s been through enough with men. If you’re figuring out something about yourself, that’s great, but don’t confuse him. I don’t buy the whole ‘I’m here to check up on you’ shit.” He doesn’t give me a chance to respond before he barrels away with a quick “Bye,” tossed over his shoulder.

“Yeah, I’m not sure I buy that anymore, either,” I mumble, bringing the cup up to my lips to take another sip.

For the next hour, I feel like a stalker tracking Lennox as he glides around the house. He chats with each person he comes across, giving each of them some of his time. When he’s not talking to friends, he’s making sure all the food is stocked and that there are drinks for everyone to enjoy. He’s being the perfect host even though it’s not his party. He’s walking to the kitchen, and I use that as my excuse to follow him.

“Hey, you do know Nick is the one who should be doing all of this, right?” I question as I sneak up behind him. My hand touches the small of his back and I quickly pull it away when a shock of electricity hits me.

“You know him. If I didn’t do it, it would never get done. Besides, I don’t mind making sure he has a great party.” Heshrugs and turns away from me, busying himself with scraping up some crumbs someone had left behind.

“I didn’t tell him.” Lennox looks at me, scrunching up his face so I clarify. “About where you work. I didn’t tell him.”

“Thank you,” he whispers. “He worries too much. Every decision I make is questioned by him, and I’d prefer to avoid explaining myself. He doesn’t need to know everything about my life.” He sighs, tossing his napkin into the trash, then resting his back against the counter. “Is that really why you kept coming back to the club? Because you weren’t going to tell him, but you wanted to make sure I was okay?”

I reach my hand out on the surface, leaving less than a centimeter between our hands. “See, that’s actually?—”

“Hey! Where’s your phone? I want to change the playlist for the speaker.” Nick cuts me off, and I sidestep Lennox to put space between us. I swear to God, I’ll never fucking get the chance to actually talk to him.

“Oh, uh, here.” He fumbles to get his phone out of his back pocket, passing it over to Nick, who snatches it up and heads back out to the living room.

I look back at Lennox, studying him closer than I ever have before. The past few days have been eye-opening. Waking up night after night drenched in sweat with a raging hard-on hasn’t happened this much since I was younger. What’s different about it now, though, is that I’ve been dreaming of Lennox each time it’s occurred. There comes a point when you realize that ideas you thought you once knew could be changing. After three nights of sex dreams of Lennox, I started questioning things. Sexual things.

So, I did what any sexual person would do. I looked up porn videos. Again. The first time I did it, I told myself it was a onetime thing. But holy shit, it was not. I’ve always had a sexual appetite, but my hand and cock have been best friends over thelast few days. And each time I’ve come all over my stomach it was with Lennox’s name whispered from my lips.

“What were you about to say?” he asks, stepping closer to me, his voice low and cautious.

I turn my head left and right, making sure Nick isn’t within earshot. “Uh, I don’t think this is the best place to talk.”

“Follow me.” Lennox spins on his heel and takes off out of the kitchen and I follow eagerly behind him. He ducks down the hallway, pushing open the door to Nick’s bathroom. I close the door behind me, leaning my back against it. My body is heating up and I can’t help looking at the man in front of me. “So, uh, again, what were you going to say?”

His brown eyes stare at me and I find myself shoving off the door to get closer to him. “I haven’t been totally honest with you.”

“About what?”
